Is there a light under the applaince and over the range? Is there a vent system?

Asked by: Bubba
Yes , there is twin Halogen lights with low and high settings. Yes, unit can be vented to outside but recommend using indoor recirculation with charcoal filer which is included and replaceable

How does one use the convection part of this microwave?

I bought this and there are NO instructions in the owner's manual on how to use the convection mode. Do you take out both the glass and plastic turntable or leave them in? Can you use the round metal shelves with convection or the rectangular shelf? How to do set the temp and time? Any info. greatly apprreciated as Electrolux was no help as they didn't know either. They need to rewrite their manual in my opinion and give some examples of convection cooking. After all, isn't this one of the major features? Please post here with any information on how to cook convection. Thanks!
Asked by: Anonymous
You should be able to go to the Electrolux / Frigidare website and print off a copy of owners manual. The circular racks can and should be used during convection cooking but not during the microwave cooking. Not required but I recommend removing the glass tray and turntable. Convection temp and time set using the scroll feature.

is there a kit I need to purchase and if so, which one so that I can install above my stovetop with a 36 inch opening

Asked by: scotth
Comes with a mounting bracket but unit is designed for use above a 30 inch range/ cook top. You will have ribbed sides, not smooth surface exposed over a 36 inch range.

It has suffered some of the exact same failures described in other reviews. After original installation, it completely stopped working in less than two months. After taking two weeks to get repaired by an authorized warranty repair service, it promptly began to progressively fail again. It would not retain the clock time setting, constantly asking to reset, only to lose the time setting again. If you were timing and cooking something simultaneously, the timer would fail. If you were using the Over the Stove light and you needed to open and close the oven door, the Over the Stove light would shut off. How frustrating is that? What a piece of junk. Frequently, the controls would fail to work intermittently. Then all of the sudden, they would start working again. Recently, for the first time ever, I used the convection oven feature. After cooking completed, the microwave is now completely dead, except for the oven compartment light. $700.00, and now all I have is a box with a little light in it??? I have owned a few other microwaves that lasted for decades, but I think they were manufactured somewhere else. Now, the warranty repair service company won't be able to come out for four more days, most likely without the parts in stock needed for the repair. I just can just hear it now, "Its gonna take at least a week to get the parts"! Awesome...

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Failed twice in less than two years. This unit has completely failed twice in less than two years. The first time it completely died was only two months after it was originally installed. Shortly after it was repaired by warranty repair, certain features progressively began to fail, until total failure to work. That's my experience with this microwave. You be the judge.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great features but breaks down quickly I bought this microwave about 5 years ago and the mother board went out within a year. Unable to see anything on the screen. Quite disappointing. Board is more expensive than it would be to buy a new microwave. Even though I still bought it, it arrived broken. Not a good buy.
