Good question but I do not know. You might try "Elmer's" directly.

Would this glue make pasta expand? What is the water content? Asking for friend.

Asked by Linguini October 23, 2018

Thi glue is basically casine glue with a resin mixed in. The resin makes the glue impervious to water and streingthens the bond. Casine is a protien in mammel milk. It primarily is a white thick liquid made by reducing the water content of cows milk. Here is more information https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casein The protein is not water soluable, however, the salts and aditives are. If you are wishing to glue pasta together do not cook the pasta in water, cook it on low temp in milk. As the water in the milk is absorbed by the pasta the proteins in the milk adhere to the pasta effectively gluing the pasta together. As the pasta gets more flexable it will form a mass that is all stuck together when it cools. As an example: Have you made mac and cheese from a box? Notice they have you add milk, heat it then add a powdered cheese? Cheese and milk contain casine. In that application you are gluing the cheese to a flexable noodle. The cheese inhibits the pasta from sticking together. Try cooking your pasta in milk, it ought to be fun. Be sure to coat the pan with a release spray such as Pam so you don't end up gluing your noodles to the pan. Back to the Wood Glue; Since casine is somewhat water soluable the addition of the wood glue would provide a weather resistant binder. In any case I would not recommend eating any of it.

It's a good product for sure, but in my opinion it doesn't store well. Mine dried out inside the container in about 9 months or so. It was capped tight and stored in the garage, not stored in the sunlight. Other than that, I was happy with it.

I've used elmer's since grade school. Have found it to be a good glue for the money. I make toys for kids tractor, bull Dozer ,combine' action and it fun for me as I'm retired now ,most of my stuff are from left over wood. Very home made but the kids like them. 1RD1

Elmer's Carpenter's Wood Glue - The Right Stuff
Excellent product with remarkable adhesion. Spread a thin layer on both surfaces before joining for best results. If applied properly, this glue is stronger than wood once cured. If you do a lot of woodworking, you can save by purchasing a gallon (not available at The Home Depot) then clean and refill the handy smaller bottles.

Works Well
This is easy to apply and it works well. I use it in conjunction with finishing nails on projects like shelving units and corn hole boards - apply wood glue, clamp the pieces together and ten tack together with finishing nails. It really makes for a sturdy end result.
