Questions & Answers

Don't you need to vent a NG stove outside

Asked by: Yvon
California has deemed these illegal to sell in their state. I am a utility worker in the state as well and I would never have one of there in my house. I have been to enough carbon monoxide illness jobs to know that this is a bad idea. the oxygen sensor would be useless. you can have more than enough oxygen in the room and still die from co. if you get one you better get a co alarm with it! yellow flame equals carbon monoxide. this would be nice in an outside patio.

where are controls located?

They are in the center panel right in front of the unit. It is a pretty simple layout too, ignite switch and heat level control.

what makes this stove so popular?

every time we check to see if its in sock its not. We never get an email for it ever being in stock. so whats so great about it? I know its adorable looking. but what else?
Asked by: cherney
We have 3. They are great for warmth in any room. We usually turn it off after awhile beacause it warms very quickly. Buy it as soon as they come to the store in late fall they sell out fast. Love it

Can this stove set in front of a window?

Can this stove set in front of a window?
Asked by: Bexli
Hello and thanks for your question. My 1st concern would be how weather tight that window is. You wouldn't want all of the heat to seep out of the window crevices. And you would never want to run this unit next to an open window with drafts. I agree with the curtain issues also from a previous commenter. Asside from that, nothing prevents it from being installed in front of a window.

25,000 BTU Vent-Free Dual Fuel Gas Stove with Thermostat is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 93.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Instant Heat Best deal out there!! We purchased this unit to install in our back room that has no heat once the unit came it was much nicer then we expected. We have natural gas so we had to convert it not to tough ( but we are both plumbers) We hooked it up out side to a BBQ hook up to burn off the new smell outside on high for two hours it help lots with the new start up smell would recommend that to all. We ended up installing it in our sunroom which is a room in the middle of our 1500 sq ft 1938 farm house single level in Santa Rosa CA it warms up the whole house in no time at all. The unit is 99.9 percent efficient we turn off our furnace which is only 80 percent efficient. The sunroom is one of my favorite rooms but due to all the windows and set off in the middle of the house it never really stayed very warm now it is great to sit and work on the labtop with the fire on while we warm the whole house. All our family and friends can not belive the amount of heat this unit puts out. Would recommend this unit to all!!!!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it, love it, love it! We were part of the storm that left us without electricity for 9 days in December 09 and we have a heat pump. Well, my stove was gas and I was able to cook. There wasn't a gas fireplace around for 100 miles and kerosene just stinks too much for me. Went to Home Depot in Abingdon, VA, and they told me they were out of them in their store(even sold the display models) but I could go online and look. I did and this stove was available and I saved $80. It was hooked up in two days and we are living large. In our living room and working like a charm. We just love it. Footprint is just right and we don't need to purchase the optional blower. We turned our heat pump down to 55 and are waiting to see our next electric bill (which had doubled the previous month!). It really is a nice stove and fits into any decor. We are very happy with our purchase and Home Depot!

I was able to easily assemble legs and logs. Plumber connected natural gas in a couple of hours. Love the ambiance. Fire is realistic and relaxing to watch. I recommend this to all forced hot air users who are never really comfortable when the temps drop.
