How do you clean it with no ash drawer?

The product specs say no ash drawer is included. Doesn't that make it more difficult to keep it cleaned out?
Asked by: Parisa
You have to wait until the fire dies down somewhat and shovel out the ashes and coals.

1200 sq. ft. Wood-Burning Stove is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 95.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from I love the look and size of this wood stove.... I love the look and size of this wood stove. Pros: it has a big glass window, is light enough to put in place with two people, has a contemporary look, and easily heats my 750 sq ft home into the mid eighties. Cons: The fumes off of this thing are terrible. I broke the stove in properly and have had 30+ fires. For the first hour every time I fire it the fumes coming off this as so thick I have to open all the windows in my house and it's hard to breathe. It must be from the paint. The smoke vents properly, just invisible fumes. The fan has two speeds, loud and super loud. You also have to reach behind the wood stove to turn the switch on and off. The stove is hot and the back edge sharp so I have torn my jacket. Also, be careful loading this, the door latch becomes exposed when the door is open and it has melted a couple of my shirts. You also have to be careful as there is not much of a lip at the door opening so logs can easily roll out. You also have to keep the door cracked for the first 15 minutes to get a fire going otherwise it will not get enough oxygen.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Fire won't start w/o door being open. Firebox too shallow.... Fire won't start w/o door being open. Firebox too shallow. Ash gets everywhere when fire is stoked.Glass needs cleaning daily. Firebox needs cleaning every other day. Blower is extremely loud, even on low. You can't talk on the phone with it on. The one good thing is that it heats my 900 'sq. home.

There are a couple things about this stove that I've grown to despise. 1. The door doesn't open wide. 2. The air intake for the firebox is in a bad spot. 3. I can only fit 15" logs.

It has some minor issues, but given my space constraints for how big of a stove I could fit, it has served me very well. I doubt I would've been happier with any other comparably sized stove. Pros: -It is easy to clean and use (despite not having a separate ash trap or pullout drawer) -Not difficult to start fires if you follow directions for the air intake and door opening. You definitely need to crack the door when first starting a fire. -The stove does some re-burning of gases before the exit the flu, increasing the efficiency of the stove -Air intake and thus burn rate is easy to control -When you follow the directions for to get the best burn, it easily heats 1200 sq ft. I have it in the center of my two story, 3600 sq ft home, and if I try I can make it 80+ degrees F in the room that it sits in. The stove can keep the rest of the house around 64 F without the central heat running (obviously it is not meant to heat a house that large, though). My stove is pretty closed in, so the heat is really only pushed into the one room. -The handles do not get hot to touch. You can easily open the door or adjust the air intake without having to put on gloves. Cons -The fan is quite loud. If you plan to have a TV or stereo in the same room, be prepared to have it turned up quite loud. -The firebox is small. I often have to chainsaw my wood down to a smaller size to fit it in. I will fit 14-15" length logs oriented from side to side and 8-9" logs oriented front to back. You can of course fit bigger ones diagonally. -If the stove sits in the open and the back is readily visible, the fan sticking out of the back is a bit of an eye sore

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy so far! I looked everywhere for a small, low-clearance, clean-lined woodstove for my small living room, and was thrilled when I came across this one. I'm a complete amateur when it comes to stoves and fire building, so the first few fires took a bit of experimentation based on tips from other reviewers, but now I've got it figured out. The fire burns hot and clean and puts out a ton of heat, almost too much for my 850 square foot house. The included fan is pretty unsightly sticking out the back of the unit, and quite loud, even on the low setting, but does a nice job of moving the warm air around. I plan on replacing it with an Ecofan soon. Overall, a great buy!

Make sure top baffle is in correct position to rear for installation. Must get draft going when starting but this is true of all stoves. Large glass in front make for beautiful view. To get a better stove one would have to spend double or triple and it would only be marginally better. I will be buying 5 more for similar projects in the near future.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The unit was easy to install and the only items... The unit was easy to install and the only items to install were the handles. The stove gives off good heat for the space I used it in. The reason I dis not give an excellent rating is that when I peeled the stickers off the stove, the paint come off with it and it looks a bit beat up already
