What are the other ingredients besides boric acid?

What are the other ingredients besides boric acid?
Asked by: MTF
Hello and thank you for contacting Willert Home Products. Please note the other ingredient is Perlite, an anti-caking agent necessary so that the boric acid will flow from the nozzle applicator properly.

Is there any harm to small pets/dogs?

Asked by: Cc
Hello, Boric Acid is a great insecticide because of it's non-toxicity to people and pets. It has the toxicity of table salt.

How to use it

Asked by: Nana
Roaches crawl through the boric acid and the tiny particles cling on to their bodies. When they clean their bodies by licking themselves clean, they ingest the boric acid (which acts as a stomach poison). They die shortly after. A little goes a long way here, so a thin layer is what you need to be shooting for. You want to apply enough so that you can barely see the layer of boric acid with your naked eyes in the correct locations and let the roaches kill themselves. It’s what makes this boric acid roaches method so great. It will take some time for them to die off, but stay consistent with the treatments. Depending on how severe the infestation is, it could take a couple of months before they are completely gone. You should see a drop in their numbers within the first 4 weeks of treatment Just as important is where you apply the powder. Applying it in areas where roaches do not frequent, or away from where they’re living is ineffective. Find out what type of cockroach you’re dealing with and where they like to hide. Then dust those areas and surrounding areas with boric acid. This ensures that they help spread it to the rest of them fast. Most of them like dark places, so areas like under the stove, refrigerators, and the hollow spaces underneath cabinets are great areas to target. Also look for any cracks, or openings in the walls nearby. Squeeze some into them if you find any. You may also want to observe where you see them most. Try this to get a good idea of where they are. At night, leave the lights off for a few hours. Then walk into the affected room, turn on the lights and see where they are most concentrated or where they scatter off to. Let them show you where they’re hiding and treat those locations. A cockroach killed through contact with boric acid becomes a cockroach killer itself. Thanks to the fact that cockroaches will eat other dead roaches, this works great to our favor. Well, that’s assuming an affected cockroach is able to make it back to the nest.

Does this kill ALL types of roaches (specifically, german cockroaches)?

Does this kill ALL types of roaches (specifically, german cockroaches)?
Asked by: ATLMom
Thank you for contacting Willert Home Products concerning Enoz Roach Away Powder. Boric acid, also known as boracic acid or orthoboric acid, is a naturally occurring compound containing the elements boron, oxygen, and hydrogen (H3BO3). Boric acid crystals are white, odorless, and nearly tasteless. It looks like fine table salt in the granular form or like baby powder in the powdered form. Boric Acid is relatively non-toxic to humans and animals unless ingested in extremely large amounts. Products that contain boric acid have been registered for use as pesticides in the United States since 1948. The most common use of boric acid is in eradicating a cockroach infestation in homes. In powder form, it can be injected into crevices and cracks to form a barely visible layer of dust. Bugs travel through this layer of dust which attaches to their legs. When the insects clean themselves, the poison is ingested, which causes death due to starvation and dehydration. This usually occurs within three to ten days. The product will continue to work effectively as long as it doesn't become wet. The prolonged presence of boric acid will mean that hatchlings from insects that lay eggs, which spraying usually spares, will also be exposed and die. Boric acid will not harm any surfaces in the home. Boron compounds inhibit the growth of fungus and have been demonstrated to be a reliable wood preservative. Cockroaches carry bacteria that can contaminate your food and make you sick! Cockroaches can contaminate food with their waste and saliva which contains bacteria that can cause food poisoning, diarrhea, and Staphylococcus infections. For this reason we recommend that the building manager inspect all units and common areas for cockroaches, monitor areas for activity and employ control methods to eradicate the cockroaches. Please contact me if you have additional questions or have any comments. Sincerely, Shelley Cade Director Consumer Affairs 800-325-9680 ext. 405 scade@willert.com
