2 ft. x 4 ft. 128-Watt Equivalent White Lens Integrated LED Commercial Grid Ceiling Troffer

Amazing light very easy to in install and love how easy it is to clean.

I just finished installing the EnviroLite 2 x 4 ft. White Lens LED Grid Ceiling fixture and am very pleased with the quality of the product and the light output. There are two wiring access plates, one for the 120 to 277 volt input wires and the other is for a 0 - 10 volt dimmer. The instructions give you the brand and part numbers of the dimmer to use if you choose to go that route. For a home install you can leave the dimmer wires disconnected and just wire the 120 volt black, white and ground wires. The fixture is only 2 3/4 inches thick so is not a problem in a drop ceiling that does not have a lot of ceiling space. It comes with tabs on all four corners to lock it in place with the ceiling grid system, The fixture has a five year material and workmanship warranty. I have a few more drop fixtures I will be updating with this LED grid ceiling fixture in the future.

=====First impressions:===== Looks fine. What dimmer can I use with this light? Installation looks easy enough. Undamaged with double boxing. =====Analysis:===== Installation was somewhat easy. This fixture is really flimsy, not that there is anything bad about that, but it makes the installation a bit harder because you need to use both hands to position it. Then you have no hand left for fasteners, if needed. The fixture has the wires coming out of one end but not out the middle. That was not an issue for me. A lot of reviewers here have complained of damage to the fixtures. I found none to mine, but it was packaged in two boxes, the inner one with the product identification and an outer one for added protection. I guess it worked. Instead of having the LEDs in narrow strips, they are scattered evenly across the panel. When lit, though the filter, it makes the light very evenly applied so that the diffuser panel is all white. I suppose that makes the light a little dimmer, but it is very attractive. See the attached images for a comparison of this type to another EnviroLite lamp with little diffusion and a layout putting the LED's in lines (a less expensive fixture). Other than that they are very similar even though this one is twice the cost of the other one. What dimmer to use? The manual give a list of several dimmers that can be used with this fixture. However, all cost at least fifty bucks and some are over one hundred. I found one that works perfectly for about thirty five. It is the Cooper Arrow-Hart DF10P-C1. Another one is the Lux-Drive A019 for even less money, although I have not tested that one. The smaller white and yellow wires go to the dimmer, with the white wire to positive(+, purple) and the yellow wire to common (-, grey). If no dimmer is connected, disconnect the ends of those two wires and the light will be at max brightness. A standard incandescent dimmer with black and white wires connected to the power wires of the light will not work properly, as that will cause the fixture supply to buzz or "hum" at low light settings. See the video for an example of the sound on a similar fixture. The filter/diffuser panel is easily removed by unlatching it and dropping one side. It can hang that way while cleaning is done, or it can be completely removed by lifting the panel and pulling it out of the slots on the opposite side. The LED's do get very hot while lit at maximum light, so do not touch those until they have cooled. =====Summary:===== Attractive light pattern (very even). Easy installation and use. Much cheaper dimmers are available than those in the manual.

The Commercial Electric 2 ft. x 4 ft LED Troffer light is a superb addition to the suspended ceiling in the finished basement. It looks much better than a fluorescent light fixture, and the surprise bonus was that it closely resembles the light output of a skylight, giving an uplifting daylight feel to the room. Adding an affordable, compatible low-voltage dimmer switch and circuit were well worth the upgrade. Home Depot's upgraded shipping with double box padding greatly reduces the chances of a dinged flange, but minor dings are easily bent back with padded pliers. PRO TIPS: While not excessively tall in profile, the unit is not as flat as some others but works in most applications - check your height clearances allowing for maneuvering room during installation as well as joining the wires and closing the box covers. The quick connectors are a bit different and suited for specific gauges of household wiring with thinner wires on fixture side and for daisy chaining to similar efficient fixtures. If needed, you can open and remove the quick connectors to switch to wire nuts. Space is limited in the connector boxes, so avoid excessive house wire length and orient the clamp at an angle that allows the flat part of the house wire to bend into the connector box.
