Product Details

EnviroLite LED backlit high bay lights are the perfect solution for commercial lighting needs in garages, warehouses, gyms, manufacturing space, and large retail spaces. With an enclosed power supply and covered optics, these light fixtures are designed for durability in commercial/industrial applications. They are designed to save energy and lower maintenance costs. The LED light engine inside this fixture uses 30% less power to produce the same amount of light as a fluorescent fixture. This is a low maintenance solution that eliminates the need to replace power supplies and light bulbs because the light source is integrated in the fixture. Because it's LED, you will never hear the hum that fluorescent fixtures make. This High Bay provides 5,000K CCT daylight at 10,000 Lumens (similar to a 5 lamp fixture). EnviroLite commercial lighting fixtures are built with LED chips that last for 50,000 hours of continuous use. Fixtures are ETL listed and can be installed in damp locations, and they come with a 5 year warranty. These high bays are UL rated for wet locations, are dust proof, and can withstand rain from any direction. They are DLC listed to qualify for commercial lighting rebates and special incentives in certain areas.
  • Slim body, lightweight, no bulky heat sink, weights only 8 lb.

Product: Envirolite 21" LED Backlit High Bay 5,000 CCT Hanging Light/Country of Origin: China///// I think that I may have overdone it when I installed this fixture in a laundry room. Man is it bright! It's a great light fixture regardless and it looks pretty good in there. It was easy to install, but didn't come with a canopy or escutcheon of any kind. I had to scavenge the canopy form the fixture that I replaced which I find to be unusual. Most lighting fixtures come with the appropriate installation hardware. At the end of the day I have to say that this fixture would make a wonderful addition to a garage or shop; somewhere that was voluminous and industrial. One of these lights would have no trouble illuminating a 200 or 300 square feet space...perhaps larger.

This 21 inch diameter LED cast aluminum backlit high bay light fixture came in a box with light assembly required. The kit came with a threaded eye bolt (with set screw for safety) for hanging as well as the casting is threaded on the sides for optional mounting. The cct (correlated color temperature) of this LED is 5000K (K is degrees Kelvin). Though this is not quite a full "daylight" color temperature which is 6000K it is still a quite bright light. I like the smart ballast they are using with this fixture making it possible to use 120VAC to 277VAC at either 50 or 60 hertz (cycles per second). This can be an asset if someone uses the fixture in an application other than in North America where we use 60 hertz exclusively. I was very happy with the fixture until I saw the maximum operating temperature of a mere 40 degrees celsius which is only 104 fahrenheit. I live in the desert southwest and our ambient temperatures reach 112F to 114F every summer and the upper areas of warehouses where a high bay such as this are frequently used are easily in the 120F to 130F range. With cooling fins as large as what is on this fixture I feel it is probably better in heats than the manual allows. I also could not find a suggested or required height of install as most high bay lighting I have worked with over the years will identify and is usually over 20 feet. Given this fixture is rated at 100 watts it may not compare to the output of most high bays which are well into the 20000 lumen range where this on is a 10000 lumen which would then lower the height of install.

A pretty bright light, almost too bright. I installed in a back corner of garage over storage shelving and definitely brightens the area up. It does not dim so would not place anywhere where a lot of light is not needed or wanted. It does have a commercial look to it and wires up and mounts very easily with just basic hand tools. Works better with higher ceilings.

We placed this light in our residential wood shop, 20x24’ room at 10’ ceiling height. This is our 2nd LED bay light for the room & now we feel we have plenty of light for the room based on their production Lumens. Liked that they were dust proof as with all the saws/sanders running since we do not have a dust collection system in place presently. It was a very straight forward easy install. It would probably throw better light if our ceilings were 12” or higher but we are completely happy with the amount of brightness we have at our height this light produces. Please to have replaced the humming fluorescent’s by silent LED’s. Appearance rated a 3 as its “galvanized” in appearance and not pretty in my eyes, its industrial for a shop so it’s what I would expect for appearance.

This light was perfect for going in my storage shed. I needed something that would be easy to install and bright enough to light up the whole shed. This light met both of those requirements! Installation of the light took about 5 minutes and I wish I would have installed one of these sooner! It lights up every inch of my 10x10 shed I couldn’t be more thrilled. The light is made what appears to be very heavy duty but doesn’t have a ton of weight. Is waterproof so you can install it indoors or outdoors which makes it very versatile!

Harsh, not that that's a bad thing
    - ~1' additional height of product with reflector on, total ~2' - Without reflector, phosphor-burn-like brightness and intensity, presumably due to the LED cluster; very little horizontal throw, so minimal bounce from reflector - Plastic -- but completely unnoticeable -- lens does not seem to block significant light passage - Light meter measures 10kLM @1' -- looks much brighter than greater lumens from a DE MH with mirrored reflectors I received this 21" high bay with an 8' LED strip from the same manufacturer, and a 4' LED strip from someone else, all for supplemental plant light for overwintering, otherwise with 150wDE-MHs The strips have inner-ribbed plastic lenses for diffusion; I'd otherwise used drop-in troffer panels, edge-lit, sitting horizontally, and chinese outdoor 50w LED floods. Troffers are the most diffuse and you get the least amount of light produced; the floods worked for a good six seconds or so (problems with LEDs almost always boil down to cheap and/or mismatched drivers) -- those were COB chips, and should have been the least forgiving, but this high bay takes that cake. Near-opaque shadows, as you get under Metal Halides, and an amazing intensity for a relatively loose cluster of LEDs. Its lens isn't used as a selling point, but I can't imagine it's absorbing much thrown light; the reflector adds another ~1' to product height, which for me is not possible to work with, so it hangs at eye level, fixture ~1" below ceiling, with very little horizontal throw -- it's enough to milk down from a reflector, not enough for me nor my plants to care. Staring at the lens will put you in the market for a new set of eyes, but at eye level unprotected it's easy to avoid looking at it directly, even peripherally. The color temp feels arctic cool, which I very much prefer over any shade of warm. GE? came out with the marketing term "high definition lighting" for its incandescents -- this stuff gets into every crack and crevice, and rips up detail. You won't want to read under it if anything is above the printed material due to harsh shadowing, but for a warehouse, especially with closer, more diffuse supplemental lighting, this light source takes about 90% load off the brain for processing what comes to it in otherwiswe average light. This is a really cutting light, and I couldn't be happier. To the degree I don't care what my plants think. I believe the die-cast, thick heat fins are actually thinner two-ply, and they feel hollow -- everything about the fixture itself is heavy duty, except the fins, as you can bend them surprisingly easily if you grab their very ends with a finger -- a very minor heads up, first install the super-heavy steel hook-ring, then handle the fixture by that as much as possible, avoiding the fin edges always. The lens can take some pressure; it's stronger than it looks, while the fins are a bit weaker.

    Good light for big spaces
Just one unit is more light than a dozen "60W equiv" bulbs. 10,000 Lumens! You can't hang this unit low. It is way too bright for most indoor lighting needs. As an experiment, I lashed it to the joists in my 11 foot high garage. It is REALLY bright right there! But also glares in my eyes, and does not reach well in the corners. The intended use will be 15' to 30' up, and multiple units on 15' to 30' centers. At that height the light at bench level is good. Multiple lights fill-in shadows. You should work with a qualified lighting designer to select lamp type, height, and spacing to suit your needs. But this product will work well in many "High Bay" situations. Tall warehouses, big barns, large stores, basketball courts, etc. Highly efficient LEDs. Uses somewhat less power and promises longer life than gas/vapor lamps. Somewhat better efficiency and far more life than the better fluorescents. Much less power and more life than incandescents. In large spaces the energy savings will be massive. Good smooth color, not the odd colors of vapor lights. On the blue side, which may not be cozy but is good for seeing. Has a massive finned heatsink to cool the LEDs. Of course it runs warm but does not get "hot". After hours, I can lay my hand on it as long as I like. Far far cooler than some gas/vapor fixtures or most incandescent fixtures. Not a fire hazard. Rated for contact with insulation. Comes with neat hanging-eye. Also has two side-holes for swivel-mount, though mount and bolts are not included. Power entry is rubber-sealed and rated for damp locations. Cord is like SVJ, bare ends. It must be hard-wired, or a plug added. If you have more than a few thousand square feet to light, note this is also sold as a 24-pack.
