The Escali BT503 is specifically designed to measure body temperature without any contact to the subject's skin. Safely measure the amount of infrared heat radiating off the forehead for reliable measurements within 1 second. Switch to Object Mode to check the temperature of items such as baby's milk or coffee to ensure they are safe to consume.

      A:  To switch measuring units: 1: Pull trigger once to turn the thermometer. 2: Press and hold the 'Set' button until the screen displays "F-1", then quickly release the button. 3: Press the 'Set' button once until the screen displays "F-2", then release the button. 4: Press the 'Set' button once again until the screen displays "F-3", then release the button. 5: Press the "up" arrow button once, and the thermometer will change from C to F (or F to C) depending on the current setting. 6: Press the "Set" button until the screen displays "F-4", and press once more to power the unit off, and save the setting. You can now pull the trigger to turn on the thermometer and begin using it again.

                Can not change to read fahrenheit temps.
                Home Depot was right on the ball in shipping. Shipping was free and the item was here in just a couple days. Had the thing for one day. I don't do Celsius well and the description at purchase said it was easy enough to change - not in this lifetime Jack! For more than a C Note it should work as advertised. I'm not totally condemning the thing, reading Celsius is just fine, that works. I will return it to a local store ASAP.
