Does this product increase PH (alkaline) or decrease it (acidic) or bring it to the normal range? Does it include instructions on how much to add?
Asked by: Fred
It increases pH, in other words makes soil less acidic, and alkaline soil more alkaline. On the back label, it gives instructions on how to measure the soil's pH, and then how much lime is needed per square foot of lime needs to be applied to get it to the desired pH.

I have tomatoes with blossom-end rot....where the bottom of the tomato turns dark brown while still hanging on the vine. Directions on a fertilizer bag reads "Prevent this problem by spreading a little lime or gypsum on the soil at planting." Would this product (Garden Lime) be a product I could use for this purpose in the future?
