As always just be sure you have proper safety equipment when driving rebar into the ground such as eye protection and good quality work gloves. eyedaddy

            A:  yes

            by|Oct 16, 2018

A:  depends on how thick the post is and how deep you want to go. Also if you are built like a super body builder it may work. But you might think about a full sized sledge hammer for that.

              by|Dec 18, 2018

A:  Anonymous, Yes you can use this hammer to drive metal post into the ground. I have use it to drive in Fence post made for wire strands/ signs. If you plan to use this for round fence post like are made for Chain Link Fence you might not want to use this type of hammer as it will bend over the rim of the post and you will not be able to get a Post Cap or Top Rain Post Cap on it. I hope this answers your question. eyedaddy

A:  This hammer has the same powers as Thor’s Mjolnir in a humans hands. Not only can this be used to pound down steel posts, it can also be used to defeat any alien invaders.

A:  I used mine to drive in steel fence post support brackets that were about 3 ft long. Depending on size of metal post and type of ground you are driving into this may or may not be heavy enough. Wear EYE PROTECTION!! Its a must

                  Cheap Plastic
I’m sure it’s great, given all of the positive reviews. Just don’t miss your target because the rest of it is dipped in 1/4” of cheap plastic. Still usable, but there are better options. This hammer was about 2 months old.

I've used this 2 LB hammer for many different projects over the last few years, from cutting Belgian blocks with a cold chisel to breaking up rocks to driving in stakes and even orange snow markers. The project pic below was to cut the large rock so that I could continue the Belgian block around my raised bed garden. The handle is very comfortable to use over a long time & the rubber handle absorbs a lot of the shock from the impact.

What's to say - it's a hammer... But it's solid, and well made. The handle is very comfortable - rubber grip and absorbs some vibration/shock so easy to use all day long. The bright blue and yellow colors make it pretty easy to spot on the job site - so that's pretty handy too!

I banged in some medium size fence poles. It worked well for the task, short swing medium weight, non-slip handle, maintained a good grip in the rain.

I have raised garden beds and try growing vegetables. I was finding when the plants would sprout, the birds would eat the sprouts before the plants could grow. So I got some 1x2's and put them on the corners of the beds, then spread mesh netting over the posts like a canopy to deter the birds. I used the Estwing Drilling Hammer to pound the posts in. I like how it's head is secure. (I had an older mallet that's head would fall off---Yikes!) also how it's smooth head didn't stress the wood. I'm sure I will find other uses for this.

The hammer is great. Estwing is great. Home Depo no longer stocks them. Go to Lowe’s for Estwing. Home Depot is turning into the Milwaukee store.
