Product Overview

The Estwing EFR3490 Pneumatic 34 Degree 3-1/2 in. Clipped Head Framing Nailer with Bag is the ideal tool for framing, decking, and fencing jobs. This air powered nail gun features a strong, lightweight magnesium body, a one-piece hardened steel drive blade, and rubber O-rings. A no mar tip protects your work surface from damage, but you can take it off to reveal teeth that grip onto lumber for a secure, no-slip hold when firing. The tool-free finger depth adjust provides a wide variety of options for driving depth. The 1/4 in. NPT industrial swivel fitting rotates 360 degrees for maximum accessibility in tight spots. Hang your nailer up with the integrated rafter hook when you need to free up an extra hand. You can quickly switch from bump to single fire using the select fire trigger. An anti-dry-fire mechanism protects the internal parts by stopping any firing when there are only a few nails remaining. This nailer is compatible with 34 degree paper collated clipped head framing nails from 2 in. to 3-1/2 in. (.113 in. - .131 in. shank). This durable framing nailer is suitable for any professional construction contractor at the jobsite or DIYer at home, and is high-performing in both indoor and outdoor applications. The Pneumatic 34 Degree 3-1/2? The Estwing 34 degree pneumatic nail gun works great! I would recommend it to anyone thinking about buying a 34 degree pneumatic nail gun. Estwing has always been top of the line and their nail guns continue that tradition.

The first few clips of 2 3/8" ring shanked had a couple jam on me but I think it might have been bad glue on the paper nail clip. The next 500+ nails have shot flawlessly. 2 3/8" ring shanked 3" stainless steel 3" common Great framing nailer!

I just got this in a couple of days ago and put it to work yesterday. From the get go, love that it comes with a case. The case itself has a large pouch on the outside as well as several inner pockets for storage. The nailer is extremely easy to load. The air connection swivels slightly to avoid strain which is great. I have a not so powerful compressor but it will get up to 80 PSI output. Even in spite of that, this nail gun worked perfectly. Doing a remodel in my basement. Lots of framing done yesterday and this nail gun worked without any issues. On a previous project i had borrowed a friend's super expensive cordless Hilti framing nailer... .it had an issue of sinking the nails down enough. This Estwing nailer worked awesome. Highly recommmend it.

    Solid Framing Nailer
This nailer is reasonably lightweight, and so far has done everything I ask of it. I have been using 34 degree 2 1/2 inch smooth shaft nails, and this does a great job driving them into construction lumber at roughly 90 psi (the recommended is 70-120psi). The depth setting is reasonably sensitive, allowing you to bury the heads of the nails or leave them slightly above the lumber. It switches easily from bump actuation to triggered actuation, and the bump actuation can be done quickly and rapidly. The only drawback that I have found is that it is difficult to find nails to drive with this tool. As a DIYer, I don't really need several thousand nails at any given time, and you can't get smaller packages at the store. Also, it is fairly hard to find clipped head nails. My research online suggests that they are actually not up to the building code in many places, so people are using offset head nails in theses. That is working pretty well for me as well, though I am a bit concerned that it may produce a shortened lifespan for the tool through some potential additional wear and tear.

Great nailer, easy to use, good weight and ready to work
When we got our nail gun I had just started reworking my stalls and had eight new gates to build, so after laying out my 2x6's and using my trailer for a work bench, I put the new nail gun through it's paces. I was impressed to find that all the 3 inch nails were consistently placed and there was no need to go back with a hammer to set them. It was also, a good weight and making it more easily to place where I wanted it, It didn't move during the nailing.
