Not worth it.
Easy to install looks nice but lasted only 3 weeks on a door that is not used daily.

Worked for a while
I installed this on the main gate we use to our backyard. After about a year of use, I noticed that the latch on the end had bent and was not working any more. Considering it was only a few dollars, I guess this is fair. I bent the latch back and it works well enough until one of the kids yanks on it too hard and bends it again... I think when I get tired of fixing it, I'm going to get a rope unless they have one of these with a more permanent end.

Works Great
I am so glad I got this. I have had to replace the twine, rope or string that I have used several times -- they kept wearing down on the hole and breaking after a little while. This being wire should last a very long time if not forever. Works like a charm. This wire was very easily threaded through the hole in the gate and attached to the other side. My hubby did it and was thrilled!

Great Replacement Cable!
This gate latch cable was an exact replacement for one which had been in service for over forty years. As you can see from the picture, It has a clip on the "inside" side of the cable to attach to the gate latch. The package had detailed instructions on how to install this on a new fence as well, so installing this cable should be trouble-free on either a new fence gate or an existing fence gate. It is really easy. I highly recommend this gate latch cable!
