Yes. I have made that connection with a sharkbite fitting. It has not leaked to date.

I'm sure it would fit BUT mixing two metals together normally leads to oxidation over time. I would use the standard fittings made of the same metal as the rest of your line...it's usually aluminum or steal.

Can this be used on a propane line to cap off an unused line inside a camper?

I would NOT recommend this to cap off a propane line in a camper. Instead; Use some other fitting that might NOT include soldering if possible.

Works as needed. I threaded into a 1/2" ball valve. Then sweated the other end into a 1/2" supply line.

Sweat End is 3/8" Pipe, not 1/2"
This is described as 1/2" threaded adapter (MIP), but the sweated end is for 3/8" pipe (not 1/2"). Who uses 3/8" pipe ? So I'm mystified about these ratings -- it's not an adapter to adapt 1/2" pipe to threaded; it's to adapt 3/8" pipe to 1/2" threaded. HD sells a "short neck" verson for about $1.70 that is 1/2" threaded/1/2" sweat.
