Inside a fitting a fitting instead of end of line. For instance to turn a T fitting into a straight line when the T'd line needs to be abandoned.
Leanne, it is not pointless. If you have a 3/4" tee that you need to abandon, it is a perfect way to plug the fitting rather than insert a short piece of copper pipe and capping that. Especially if any further extension of the tee will stick out past your finished wall.
