You would need a 1/4" -18 npt tap. The outside diameter of the threads will be 0.54 inches per NPT standards.

Yes. No extra items needed for a standard hose.

What is the threads per inch on the 1/4 mip? I need to get the right tap for it. Is it 18 tpi?

Asked by Carlos March 14, 2020
1
Answer

All of our 1/4” MIP fittings use American National pipe standards and the 1/4” is 18 threads per inch.

Can I use this fitting to reduce a 3/8” faucet supply down to a 1/4”compression fitting at a shut off valve?

Asked by Spencer December 30, 2019
1
Answer

No, this fitting is threaded to pipe thread standards and not compression thread standards and the 2 systems are not compatible with each other. We do not currently make an adapter that will work for your situation. We would recommend changing the supply valve to one with a 3/8” outlet as this will be the simplest solution.

The Male End for this Hex Bushing is 3/8".

Is this suitable for natural gas connection?

Answer

The manufacturer notes that unless they manufacture an item specific for a gas application, they cannot make any recommendations. Additionally, local city, county, and/or state rules and regulations vary and may require specific types of fittings of specific types of alloys. Please contact your local gas company for guidance.

this fitting is 1/2" Male International Pipe thread to 3/8 Female International Pipe Thread. The use of this is to reduce from 1/2" female pipe threads to 3/8" female pipe threads. One out of four was cut/threaded too deep. It would not tighten and seal before bottoming out, (even with excessive Teflon tape).
