Good rod, but the 0.5 in. is 13mm (0.512 in)
I'm using this rod in 0.5" ID bearings, but it did not fit at first since this rod's OD is not 0.5", it's 0.512 in (13mm). My bearings did not allow for such tolerance, so I had to shave the rod for them to work. It would be nice if they listed the actual OD so I would've known to order the correct size bearings in the first place.

Metric rod sold as inch.
I got the supposed 1/2" aluminum rod. It's actually 13 mm, around .512 or so. Far too big.

okay
I needed some 1/2" aluminum stock to make spacers/supports for a wiring loom. Convenient to get locally vs driving over to Metal Supermarket. No real load so non-disclosure of alloy acceptable. Material is soft (not tempered?) but turns fine on lathe. I'm writing this review to highlight:
a) Both of the two pieces immediately available were not straight.
b) Actual diameter is 0.510"
The material worked fine for my application but not sure I will buy again.

I was very disappointed to find that this rod was...
I was very disappointed to find that this rod was not true size of 3/8” diameter. It is slightly larger and would not fit the measuring jig I planted to use it with. The jig specified a 3/8” rod, but the rod I purchased would not fit. A caliper measurement confirmed that it is a fraction over 3/8”. Unfortunately I cut the rod, assuming it would fit.
