It depends what type of ground you are driving it in. Because we were driving them into an old quarry, we had to go to a stronger post that did not bend when driven in.

I used them six feet apart holding chicken wire and I'm not hanging any trouble. I wouldn't go much further apart than that though

For a temporary fence post, used with the temporary orange vinyl mesh, makes a temporary fence line where you need it. I've bought more of them to make a bigger temporary fence line. This product does fill the job. I've been using them for the last 5 years with no complaints.

The Green Powder coated 14-Gauge Steel Fence U-Post is durable and great for the area that I needed to use it in. It blended right in with the greenery that it was built into. The Metal Fence Post Driver was purchased with this post, and made it so easy to drive this post right into the ground where I needed it, and with ease in such little time.

Worked great. I had a bunch of people over to watch the game under the carport. I was dog sitting two boxers and needed a way to allow the dogs to hang with us without putting them on chains. I ended up putting a temporary fence up and it worked great. Plenty of room for the people and the dogs plus I left the garage door to the backyard open so the dogs could go there (it's already fenced) if they wanted too.

Very flimsy
Using a post pounder, in only slightly rocky soil, about half of these posts bent in some way, some to the point of not being usable. They are not very heavy duty, and though the remainder served their purpose of a light-weight fence, do not use these if you need something super strong and durable.

Response from Customer CareMay 6, 2021
Hello, we apologize that you did not have an optimal experience with the U-Post. Using a post pounder or sled hammer is the recommended way of driving it into the ground, however, make sure to not drive the U-Post in with too much force or it will bend under pressure. Once again, we do apologize if this caused you an inconvenience. Everbilt-MAT
