Can this be used in 5 gallon bucket
NO, the minimum basin size for this pump is 18" diameter by 24" depth. The tethered float switch needs sufficient room to swing up and down on its tethered cord without hitting the basin walls and potentially hanging up, which would risk the pump not turning on and/or off correctly.
