horrible
Ive been turning wrenches for 20 years and these are the worst bolts ive worked with. Less than a 1/4 of the box will fit a nut without snaping the bolt. I went through every bolt and you cant hand tighten barely half. Wild they sell this junk waste of my time

I purchased these Everbilt 1/4" galvanized carriage bolts for the purpose of rehabbing my utility trailer (please note pics are of project not yet finished). I also purchased matching Everbilt galvanized flat & lock washers & nuts. The Galvanized coating is smooth and complete (no globs like on some other brand's products that when knocked off leave non-galvanized surface exposed and corrode). My wallet greatly appreciates these and other related fasteners being offered in a bulk package which offers significant savings. I am a professional contractor who places value on quality and I highly recommend the entire Everbilt galvanized fastener line of products.

The bolts worked perfectly for the project I needed them for as the threads were well made with no issues threading into the nuts (as some other recent bolts I'd purchased.) I didn't lower the star for my one issue as it was not the product's fault: they were VERY hard to find on the store shelf. It took my husband and I looking for more than 20 minutes to find them while using the store app locator and all of the signage. This area of the atore could use some work.

I use these bolts for the primary joints on my Adirondack chairs. Galvanized hardware is important for a durable outdoor chair due to the environment and the corrosive nature of pressure treated lumber. These bolts are the best of this type I've found. The coating is smooth and uniformly applied.

Well, it's a bolt... I bought these for sistering floor joists and decided to go with 4.5" because my old joists were not straight and I needed extra length to pull them together. They holding up pretty good. Just keep in mind that they are not for use with treated lumber.

Junk Batch (?)
Purchased at the same time were 1/4” flat washers and lock washers along with 1/4 x 20 nuts. All were full boxes, not out of a bin. None, not one, (yes i tried them all) would thread into nuts. Cleaned several with wire wheel, no joy. Impact driver and vise grips. Nope. The bolts, ALL of them will twist in half before allowing ANY thing with proper threads work. Im a mechanic and have a great many items i tried. Went to competitor, bought same product (different manufacturer) worked perfect. As they are holding down 2 x 8 pressure treated boards to a trailer the nuts were applied underneath and upside down. No easy trick, especially at night. The threads HAD to be good. They werent. Cost a day.

The 10 pack box of Everbilt, 5/8 in. x 8 in. galvanized carriage bolts are great to have around for projects like deck framing, lawn furniture, wooden play sets or wooden fences. The large size is extremely strong and will fit a 4 x4 post and two 2 x 6 beams easily. The threaded end of the bolt is 6 inches and the total length is 8 inches. The carriage bolt has a square shank under the rounded head to lock into the wood to prevent turning as the nut is tightened. I would use a galvanized 5/8 inch washer and galvanized nut to prevent any corrosion from dissimilar metals. I prefer to use this type of carriage bolt with a nut instead of the threaded type of lag screw as it gives a much stronger joint.

Use these if you need to bolt 4x4 lumber together! These are hefty and just the right length for two 4x4 pieces of lumber, or indeed, four 2x pieces of lumber. The unthreaded length is about 1-3/4 inches. Don’t forget to pick up ⅝” inch bolts and washers as this box comes with just the carriage bolts. You can use a ⅝” wrench to turn the carriage bolt so long as the head has not yet reached the timber, so it is best to drill the hole ¾” so that the carriage bolt can be hammered in rather than threading it.
