Could this be used to make a zip line? ?

No, that is a dangerous idea. You would need a much thicker gauge.

CAN IT COME WITH HOOKS ON EACH END TO LOCK SOMETHING UP

Answer

This product does not come with a hook. You can purchase this and a hook like Part# 44004 (5/8 in. x 3-1/8 in. Nickel-Plated Swivel Bolt Snap (2-Pack)), or purchase Part# 803192 (1/8 in. x 20 ft. Galvanized Dog Run Cable) which is a rope with hook/link. In order to assist better, please specify the application so we can find the best product for the project.

The size of metal cable is 1/8" round, the size of the metal cable and plastic covering is 3/16" round. This cable has more than enough strength to hang clothes on.

is it flexible and will it hold weight?

Depends, you can bend or flex this cable into a fairly tight bend but then it will stay in that form, bent. I would say that if you wanted the cable not to take a set and return back you probably should not bend it any tighter than the roll it came on. good luck

what is tensile strength or weight load of this product?

The working load is 340 lbs. which means the static load should be slightly higher but how high I can't tell you. Tensile strength (break point) without knowing the material, sorry I cannot help. good luck.

Excellent medium duty product with unlimited potential uses around the house or shop. Technical stuff first, the individual strands of wire are approx. .012" round, six individual wires are twisted and made into a single bundle, 7 bundles are twisted and they now make the one cable. The cable is 1/8" round (see photo) and the covering is 1/32" thick making the cable with the covering 3/16" round (see photo). Each strand has been galvanized for weather resistance and the cable as a whole has been covered with plastic sheathing giving it a 340 lb. working load ability. What this all means is that this is a pretty tough product that can be used outside in the weather and expected to last a long time. Cutting, you will need bolt cutters to cut this cable, side cutters or lineman's pliers will not work. In a pinch you can use a hack saw but it is a huge pain. I use this cable to keep my lawn furniture from wondering away while I'm on vacation, works like a charm. I have also used this cable to help support newly planted trees, tension sagging gates and as a clothes line. Great product, easy to work with, designed for outdoor use, recommended.

It is nice to have 250 feet of product to do things with and yes, it seems a lot but you will use it. Some uses are a dog run, hanging outdoor lights, a clothesline, as railings on a deck, or around an enclosure for trash cans. My use is for creating cables to top off trees when I cut them and I want to guide the direction. I double these up. I loop the ends and I double-clamp the end off with Crosby clamps. For trees, I sometimes need length, up to 100 feet depending on what I have to anchor to close by. Making two cables leaves me with 50 feet on the roll. Like I said, it goes fast. The product does not rust; it is easy on the hands. It has the plastic sheathing. The roll it comes on is surprisingly small-looking and not heavy so it is easy to store or transport or use out in the field. The wire is galvanized, coated, and easy enough to use. It cuts hard. I use electrician’s wire cutters and this gives me a quick, nice cut. It is decent cable, and a reasonable price. I have not seen anything go wrong with the product.
