yes. Use high quality drill bits. If you use cheap bits and drill several holes, your drill bits will be dead.

Yes. Use Rustoleum Rust Reformer to prevent that, or coat with Vaseline or other types of rust inhibitors.

how would I "easily" cut this? Or, can someone at Home Depot cut this for me?

A hack saw will cut this easily. If you have access to a 4.5" grinder, a fairly low cost "cut-off" wheel is available, and it would cut the angle easily.

Will this product keep a 96 inch 2 x 12 from sagging?

Asked by Cindy April 21, 2018

Answers

It depends on the load that the 2 x 12 is carrying. It will definitely stiffen the wood. It will reduce the sag, but may not eliminate it entirely.

(What's this)
I needed some 1 1/2 inch angle iron to reinforce the fender brackets of my boat trailer. The 3/16 inch material is very uniform and cut easily using a cutting disc on my angle grinder. After filing the edges I drilled 7/16 inch holes, then used a wire brush and some brake cleaner to wipe down the surface, then primed and painted the fabricated brackets. The material is sturdy and blends in well on the trailer.

(What's this)
It was shipped in a heavy-duty cardboard tube and arrived in perfect condition. The advertised measurements were spot-on. Overall length is 48 ins., it's 3/16 ins. thick and the legs are 1-1/2 by 1-1/2 ins. I didn't order this with any particular purpose in mind but I like to keep assorted pieces of aluminum and steel around the shop. I hate being in the middle of a project and realize I have to stop and run to the store. I couldn't find a written warranty but as with most products Home Depot sells there is a 90 return policy.
