What type of aluminum is this? 6061? 2024? 5000 series, etc?

The numbers stand for what temper the metal is. Soft. hard etc.

Why is the 1/20" more in cost then the 1/16" ? Its thinner material, this must be priced wrong.

Answer

Thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot. We see that yes the 1/20 would cost more that would because they are different in width, the 1/20 is also good inside or out side. The 1/16 is just for inside.. We see the weight on the 1/16 would be 1.15pds where as on the 1/20 would have a weight of 0.92, You can see all the specification for the items on the middle of the page with the items in the specification section on the page with the items Sorry for the set back the manufacture is whom sets there price for the items. We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future. Thank you for shopping Home Depot.

It depends on the application. How long the span is, etc.

Concerning the 1" aluminum angle bar, I only need a piece 30" long, would I be able to purchase what I need or do I need to buy the whole 96" bar?
