Asked by Renee November 21, 2016Impossible to answer. The actual loop can hold X pounds but what is the material the screw eye is secured (wood, plastic). Is the screw eye inserted vertical or horizontal to the mounting surface. How far is the screw eye inserted? Too many variables to know the maximum weight.

Asked by mtnrider March 27, 2015screw eyes are not sized like screw sizes - a #10 screw eye is not the same wire size as a #10 screw. A #10 screw eye is 0.135" in diameter, a #10 wood screw is 0.190" in diameter. The Bolt Depot has an excellent table explaining screw eyes sizes.
