Mold? Corrosion?
I ordered 4 of these brackets. I would say they have a “Champagne” finish at best. They are pretty rough to the touch, not smooth. In other words, these do not have a quality finish. But, what really bothers me most about this, is that one of the brackets has what appears to be mold or corrosion. What I cannot understand is why someone would have actually shipped this??? Does the shipper not inspect their product before it gets packed? This is so sloppy. Obviously I will return it and not order from here again.

I love the style of these brackets as they are similar to much spendier ones I’ve seen featured in magazines. Even still, although $15 is a more budget cost, you get what you pay for. On some of the brackets the seams where the bracket came out of the mold are uneven, rough, and discolored (one of 6 brackets even looks to be a matte finish and different from the others). From a little distance it’s not super noticeable, but when you look closer the finish just isn’t very high quality. I’m not looking for magazine-worthy perfection, so I’m ok with it, but I do wish I could have seen them closeup before making my final purchase decision.

I recieved my Everbilt 10 in. x 8 in. Medium Duty Modern Shelf Bracket . It has a nice brushed nikel finish. The bracket is strong and sturdy. What I like about these bracket are the mounting hole positions. It is very easy to mark and then drill the location because the mounting holes are on the sides instead of down the center. I do not know why nobody thought of this before.

The Everbilt 10 in. x 8 in. Satin Nickel Modern Medium Duty Shelf Bracket has some flare. The bracket is a bit stylish appearing to be one piece without any visible welds. It is still utilitarian and looks up to the task of holding up shelved materials. They look to be more than just medium duty. As I read it, the bracket is rated at 150 pounds. One shelf bracket is a bit like one hand clapping. I ordered a second one from Homer and it arrived superfast. Two brackets double the capacity to 300 pounds, and so on. Three hundred pounds is way more than I intend to support. I see nothing that indicates that these are rust resistant but I still intend to make a small shelf on the wooden fence behind my hobby greenhouse to store my plastic growing containers between uses. The bottom mounting hole is centered. The top 2 are about 1 3/16” apart, center to center which is a bit tight to mount directly to 2” X 4” studs for me. Perhaps a back board would be in order for such usage. It doesn’t matter for me since I attached them to 4” X 4” posts. The containers that I am storing on this shelf are not small enough to fall through the space between the shelf and the fence between the 4” X 4” ‘s so I’m good. This are really nice brackets that are pleasant enough in appearance to be used in more visible locations than I used mine.

This is a very stylish and super heavy duty shelf bracket. I always dislike the thin, stamped shelf brackets if they are going someplace that is seen. This satin nickel shelf bracket is thick and the finish is flawless.I also like that it has three screws one the top section and a wider screwing surface.
I used this in my recreational vehicle to replace the ugly white bracket that holds up the bar. It is right on the corner so it is visible but this one is stronger the original bracket and looks great. The fixtures and handles in the camper are satin nickel so it looks right at home.

Looks so cheap. "Satin brass" is the finish name but not the finish, which is anodized and yellowy. Casting flash inside the brace and arms catches the light and is visible several feet away. The flash outside of the brace was removed with coarse wheel that left very visible grinding marks.
