They are specifically designed for woodworking applications and have aggressive threads to securely grip wood. When working with MDF or chipboard, it is recommended to use a pilot hole slightly smaller than the screw's diameter to prevent splitting, as suggested for general wood screw applications.

It doesn't matter what screw head because the heads will strip with a brand new #1 or #2 tip. These are the worst screws I ever used in my life 1 out of every 3-4 screw heads stripped. Make sure you have a 3/16 drill bit available to drill out the screws
