Not Sure How To Install These - Not Square
I purchased this bracket with the idea of upgrading my closet. I thought it might be an easy DIY project. Then I read some of the reviews, should have done that first. As can be seen in the photo the bracket is not square. I plan to install several brackets to support an 8' long shelf and closet rod. If each bracket is not square by a different amount I am not sure how they would properly support the shelf. In addition, I would think the rod might not properly clip to each clip if each is in a different location because of the out of square brackets. Now I am not sure this will be an easy DIY project.

Very heavy duty. I used these to make a garage shelve and coat rack. Mainly I made this for my motorcycle leather and gear which is heavy due to armor and being thick leather. These do a great job and handle the weight with ease.

CAUTION: BUYER BEWARE: These brackets are excellent, very strong and can hold a lot of weight when used with the matching metal pole.. BUT!!!! Ok now the biggest problem with these brackets is finding ones that actually line up or are not bent or welded out of line with each other. I read a previous review about someone having trouble having them line up so the pole sat in the support arm, so when I went to get these and I needed 4 I was diligent in making sure they were all in align and ended up having to return 2 of them upon further much more closer examination. When these arms don't line up and you level the brackets on your walls and secure them with hardware you are in trouble as there is no slot adjustment of the screw holes. I took these brackets and lined them up and looked at the support arms in every direction and I was a little shocked at how mismatched these brackets are. Obviously you want the top of the bracket in perfect alignment with any other brackets you have to mount so the shelf will be flat and level. It would be extremely frustrating to level the brackets and find that the support arms don't come in contact with the closet pole and there isn't much you can d. Although it is possible to slightly adjust the bracket arm a little left to right but its the up and down position you are not going to change or slightly twisted then you are in real trouble. Also the Closet pole doesn't fit perfectly in the cup part as the weight of the clothes actually help hold it in place because without the clothes if that pole has even the slightest curve to it the pole will keep popping out and the reason for this not fully engulfing the clothes rod is so the hangers can literally slide past each arm, if these cup fingers came up any higher they would impede the free movement of the hanger which do slide past without hitting, so its designed for that reason. I have a real hard time giving these more then 3 stars, if you can get perfect matching brackets then its a 5 star rating but being that I went thru 2 boxes and took the last 4 good brackets that matched each other was a pain so 3 stars it gets because it still does work just took an eye of an eagle to get them aligned.. Look at my photos and you can clearly see how the ends are not in alignment and how this would cause a nightmare once the brackets are secured to wall studs that you can't adjust. I even went to check the other finishes like Chrome, White etc.. and found they were just as bad, so doesn't matter of finish its quality control releasing such mismatched pieces that make these brackets a lot to be desired.. Now that I found 4 perfect brackets and they are mounted perfectly level they are awesome and I plan on using them for another closet, I just know I have some inspection work to do before I just grab 4 brackets only to get home and realize I have to go back..... I recommend these with reservations.

These are very heavy brackets to provide outstanding support for the rod and shelf. The plastic rod holder provides a little "snap" to hold the rod in place and can break if you drop the bracket. Due to the arrangements of studs in my closet and desire for symmetry I used more brackets than necessary. If you find the alignment of the rod holder is a little off when you go to install the rod, I found that you can slightly bend the "J-hook" extension of the bracket. The easiest way was to slip off the plastic rod holder then slip the closed end of a combination wrench onto the J area to apply the needed force to bend. A length of wrench is helpful as the metal is pretty tough. Worked great.

        versatile, clever design
all you need are studs to secure these brackets on the wall. unlike some other brackets, these don't need to be on the ends of the pole where your walls might be weaker. even if the brackets are closer to each other than you'd like, hangers can glide over the brackets easily because the U that holds the rod comes underneath. it's actually a pretty clever design, i'm impressed! yes, it's a plastic U shape holding the rod, but most of the weight load should be downward, which is transferred to the wall, i'm not too worried about the plastic U... yet

          Good quality hanging rod
I chose this product for it's quality, price, and color. None of these disappointed me. I'd by another one if needed someday.

design flaw & quality control issues!!!!!
Installed 2 of these for a single closet rod. the vertical position of the closet rod holder was quite different between the two (as another reviewer had mentioned). I was putting them below 20" wire shelving so luckily I'm not using this for a shelf, it wouldn't work if I was. That's a quality control issue. What I'm furious about is that standard closet hangers hit both sides of the plastic clamps!!!!! What's the point if it doesn't even work!!!!! This was for an infants room so I'm actually planning on using infant hangers, they also hit on both sides, AND vertically, so three points of contact (at least on one bracket, not the other, that's back to the quality control issue). Now you THINK that would be enough, but there's still MORE!!! I used 1 1/4" closet rod, and there are NO 1 1/4" end mounts (EVEN ON LINE). I had to make a shim and put it in a 1 3/8". Now I have to waste time and money finding a replacement and pluging a bunch of drywall holes in a freshly painted room, VERY MAD.

            Know your load
Know how much weight the brackets will be supporting and purchase enough brackets to support that weight. They will bend if you under estimate the load. We needed 4 to hang 5 bikes.
