This was very easy to install. The only snag was that the height of the unit was shorter than the Hartell PAB3X-1 pump (discontinued) being replaced and the pvc pipe from the A/C unit now does not reach the hole in unit to receive the condensation. The condensate pvc pipe either had to be cut and re-installed with a longer piece (which I did not have the materials) or, decided to kludge, rummaged around, and found perfectly-sized bricks to put under the unit to raise its height to accept the existing pvc pipe. I recommend this pump and enjoy the saving by installing yourself.

The old condensate pump gave out and water was all over the basement floor. I started collecting the AC discharge condensate into a 2-gallon bucket and found myself emptying 6 to 8 gallons a day on hot days. There were lots of good offerings for mail order, but I wanted something local to immediately fix the problem. I searched the Home Depot website and found this unit was very comparable in specifications to the faulty unit and had good on-line reviews. And the price was reasonable compared to other options. I picked one up on Sunday and installed it the same day without difficulty. 10 days later, there have been no issues. Problem solved.

    Great pump
I had a dead pump on my furnace and water was leaking everywhere in the basement. I needed one in a pinch so I ran up to Home Depot and picked this one up for about $70. It took me less than 20 minutes to install and test and not to mention, its very quiet. Lets just hope it lasts. Seems well built and functions as it should.

    Easy, easy install
This pump replaces a ten-year old pump for my HVAC unit which had started leaking. I was a little apprehensive as the old one was wired directly into the furnace, but it was quite the easy install. I cut off the end of the electric cord and just wired it like the old one was. When wiring the pump itself to the furnace and a/c wires, I paid attention to how the original ones were wired and did it the same. Moving slowly and methodically, I still did it in less than an hour. The only complaint is that the tubing included is far more flexible than what it replaced. I'm a bit concerned that it could get kinked and not drain properly, so I'll keep an eye on that.

Great condensate removal pump! I bought it, installed it in place of an old pump that stopped working and caused an ugly mess, and it worked immediately, quietly and efficiently.
