They're 3-4 feet long but the length is not as critical as the weight of the door they are lifting. You need to look at the old springs and there will be paint sprayed on one end giving you the color code of what springs to buy as replacements. White, Blue, Yellow......... Be sure to replace ALL the springs on a door at the same time. This is critical for proper, even lifting. Check out YouTube for installation tips.

Fully raise the garage door before unhooking spring. Raising the door should release enough tension to easily unhook
Open the door to releave ALL tension and secure door in place. Clamps in tracks works, a ladder to keep door in place at center of opening, or whatever else works for you. At this point it's just mechanics.

Easy to read directions right on the box. Take note of the location of the cables both the safety and pulley. It took me about 90 minutes to do both springs. Replace both springs!

These are made for single-car fiberglass doors.
I have this same question. Answer—Maybe. Theoretically, the 10lb difference should be adjustable as long as the dimensions of the springs are identical. The door needs to adjusted without the opener connected to it. When adjusted properly the door will stay in any position you put it ; neither dropping or raising on it’s own. If you manually lower the door part way and it drops, tighten each spring equally until it will remain in place. If you manually raise the door part way and it continues to rise on it’s own, loosen each spring equaly until the door stays in the position you leave it. If one end of the door is higher off the ground than the other end then the high end spring needs to be loosened a little and the low end needs to be tightened a little. If you can adjust the heavier springs so that the door is ‘in balance’ then it won’t hurt the opener.

My door weighed 118.6lbs and these worked perfect in my situation. I would think they would work for you too.
Maybe if your door is like 125 lbs.
you can use any size, but why would you, the heavier the spring the harder to close, if green was there when it was new, that is the spring that you should use
It really depends on the weight of the door. If the springs are the right weight, they should exactly compensate for the weight of the door, so if you open the door halfway, manually, it should stay put, not drop to the ground or rise to the top. If you use springs that were made for a heavier door, it's going to want to open all by itself, and the motor will have to work harder to close it. Most doors will have a slight bias one way or the other--that is, they will either be easier to close or easier to open--because the springs only come in ten-pound increments. If you can remember how the door behaved before the spring broke, you might be safe going to the next heavier or lighter spring and splitting the difference, but it would be tough to tell now. One more thing to consider: Does your garage door opener have a warranty? If so, take a few minutes to read it and see what it says regarding spring replacement. You don't want to void your warranty.
