Hi Home Depot Customer, The screw kit includes #14 x 1-1/2 inch screws, which are 1.5 inches long. These screws are designed for wood. When attaching to a wood stud through standard 1/2 inch drywall, the 1.5-inch screws would penetrate approximately 1 inch into the stud (1.5 inches - 0.5 inches drywall = 1 inch). This depth is generally considered sufficient for a secure hold in wood studs for shelf brackets.
Hi Home Depot Customer, The screw kit includes fasteners with lengths of **0.75 inches** and **1.25 inches**. To ensure the screws are fully embedded and do not protrude through the shelf, the shelf material should be at least **0.75 inches** thick. For optimal stability and to prevent the wood from splitting, it is generally recommended to use a shelf thickness that provides sufficient material for the screw threads to grip securely.
I would look for screws specifically built for concrete. Tapcon is a brand, but I am sure there are others out there. Without knowing what brackets you have, I would suggest going into the store with your bracket and have an associate help you find the right ones for your project.
You can use this screw to affix your shelf to a brick surface; however, you would need a masonry anchor to do so.
These screws will not work with metal studs, they are wood screws.
Yes but use the longer screws.
We do not recommend using these screws with handrail brackets, they are recommended for use with shelf brackets.
