A: 1.5 inch PVC pipe.
A: Hi Kendal. The slotted opening is 2.5" wide. Please refer to the downloadable Measurement Guide available on The Home Depot's web page for the cover.
A: I don't know what Jackal sump basin is. Ya might want to ask a plumber or a foundation specialist. Sorry.
A: should if you get right size
A: Hello rainman. Yes, it will.
A: Not really. The lid is there to keep critters out of the sump, and is not thick enough to reduce the noise noticeably.
A: Not really. There are openings in the lid that allow noise to come thru.
A: It will a little but not much. The lid is more for safety than noise.
A: Yes, but a lot depends on your pump type. A submerged pump will be quieter. The tall sump pump type will still be noisy as the motor is outside the cover.....meaning nothing will change. Stagnate water should be covered anyway. Sump pump hole should always be covered for safety to all.
A: Your sump pump may be loud for a couple of different reasons. I would also look at installing a quiet check on the pump vs the one that is currently on there then go with the lid that is actually for Radon control it is a sealed lid with a clear inspection portal this will give you a much quieter install
A: Yes you can cut it. I had to cut mine down. It will s pretty heavy material so I used a saw. Hope that helps
A: I honestly don't know. I haven't tried. I do know that the lid is made of a TOUGH material and cutting it by hand is going to be HARD. Good luck.
A: It’s roughly 1/4” thick hard plastic. You could cut it if you are talented with a router or possibility a jig saw.
A: No, you cannot cut the lid to fit.
A: I would imagine you can. The only thing is when the pump comes on its going to allow the hose to flop around so you will need to secure the hose. The main issue I had was if you are burying the container in soil you need to put 40-50# of concrete in the container or the container will pop out like a bobber when there is water...
