I bought two of these. Neither would latch properly until...
I bought two of these. Neither would latch properly until I bent the point of the hook back in a bit. Other than that, they’re OK.

Old Fashioned but Works
Sometimes you just need old fashioned products to get the job done and this is one of them. We were doing construction around the house and I locked my cats in the living room and somehow they open the door so I bought this little hook to keep them locked up does the trick.

3/32 inch pilot hole was too small... had to go...
3/32 inch pilot hole was too small... had to go up to 1/8, and even then it's a tight fit, but if I go up one more past that it's too loose. I don't know what's up with the treads, but it doesn't seem to work with standard size screw holes.
