This fitting is made of brass with rubber washers. And does not contain lead. But this fitting is not rated for safe water drinking. There are hose bibs that are rated for safe water drinking. And they are listed on the labels they come with..

Do these come in bulk?

Probably, although it is difficult to imagine a project which is so massive as to require a significant quantity of these. The web site probably gives more information on this.

Can I connect To my 1/2” PVC pipe if it has a MPT thread adapter on it ? Thanks

Yes, most pvc pipe has NPT (national pipe thread) fittings. As this valve also has NPT. I do suggest that you use Teflon pipe thread tape on the hose bibb threads. this will insure that it won't leak, and make it easier to take apart if needed.

Yes, The actual hose diameter does not matter; all garden hoses, irrespective of the interior hose diameter, use the same threads for attachment.

What size nut would fit the inlet threads? Would like to attach this to a 5 gallon bucket

The threads are NPT, (national pipe thread). I used several of these bibs for making rain barrels. The nuts i used was from the electrical dept. 1/2" used for metal conduit connectors. Just make sure that after installing, spread a little of silicone on the inside of your bucket. This will insure that it wont leak. Good luck with your projects.

Does this bibb have a rubber washer inside?

It does have a rubber washer sealing the end of the stem. However, it does not fasten with a screw and washer, it just slips over a mushroom shaped tip.

does it use washers?

As to internal washer, see the 2015 review under the pseudonym "Me" (not I). The photo there reveals further, that the crumbly washer inside is NOT replaceable. I just now saw that review after buying two of these bibbs. (FWIW,they look a tad different than pictured, a batch by a new supplier? I think the marketing name Everbilt is missing a k just before the t.) An old US-made bibb I'm about to replace did have a replaceable washer, but I'm getting lazy with age and less time.

Good product, quality material. Easy install. Only thing I don’t like is it has to be turned a lot to fully open and close the valve.

Hello,
We are happy to hear that you are satisfied with most of the components of the 3/4 in hose bibb. The valve is considered multi-turn and therefore will require several turns to be fully opened. We appreciate your input.

As far a being an On-Off valve, this product works fine. However, if there is one thing I cannot abide, it is deceptive labeling to increase potential sales and this is the reason I gave it One Star. Brass has been used for centuries for water valves for one main reason, Corrosion Resistance. There are cheaper Hose Bibb valves for sale and if corrosion is not an issue then there is nothing wrong with plastic or (as in this case) Pot-metal parts. The other valves on the store shelf do not try to hide their true materials. Plastic bodies and handles come in various colors that can help indicate the temperature or type of liquid they are controlling. Pot-metal handles are either color coded or left their natural silver color. Because these other retail valve's main components (body, stem, handle) are made of different materials, the main description on their label or box does not give one material. THIS valve deceives in two ways. First, as you can see from the photo I included, the label (and even the pre-made title of this review) says "BRASS Hose Bibb". Secondly, two of the arrows in my picture point to areas I ground off of the handle and the body. Notice that the body shows yellow brass in the ground area, while the handle shows white/silver Pot-metal. To further the deception, the two exposed non-brass parts (screw & handle) are plated in a brass LOOKING coating. This was not done because a brass colored handle is prettier than the chrome or nickel plated handles used by other manufacturers, it is to deceive the purchaser into thinking this is a BRASS Valve Assembly. I drove many miles and chose this valve and drove it back home to use in my well-water chlorination/de-chlorination system that sits next to the salt brine tanks that feed the water softener. The chlorine mist and vapors in this area do not significantly corrode brass, but they turn Pot-metal or zinc into a pile of crumbled dust. Again, if your system is plain tap water, this valve may work fine, but if you are looking for corrosion resistance that the word brass implies, don't be deceived by the deceptive labeling and cheap plating on this valve.

Hi Jim,
We are sorry to hear that you are disappointed in the hose bibb. The descriptor of Brass applies to the valve itself, more specifically the water way. The handle is zinc and the coating is not designed to be deceptive.

I replaced the original plastic hose bibb on my rain barrel with this brass hose bibb. This hose bibb is obviously much, much more resilient than a plastic hose bibb. My opinion to the manufacturer would be to step-up the handle but even if the handle fails, replacement handles are readily available.

I've gone through 3 of these in a month now. All of them have the same issue, the gasket inside crumbles after the third time you turn them off.
