Well made product. I use this on the cold water side of a water heater to mount and expansion tank. The "tee " is for the cold water supply . It is strong enough to hold a 2 gallon expansion tank. This fitting saves money and time when installing water heaters.

The product is as advertised. No defects - solid brass. Best use in outdoors. Mine is being used as a gas pipe, but water would be acceptable. Too often I see people use black iron or galvanized outdoors - not a smart idea in rainy Seattle. My only issue with the Home Depot and the brass parts offered as I was forced to buy this in lieu of a brass tee with the ends that I needed. Instead of using one fitting, I had to use four (see pictures below). In any piping system, less is more - less chance for leaks, etc. Luckily I had two 5/8" flare to pipe but had to buy a 3/8" to pipe. I know the store cannot stock everything, but at least offer it online. Strangely, HD sells 5/8" fittings but no 5/8" tubing.

I upgraded the output on my compressor from 1/4 in. All the parts here were used to do the job. This part went to make 2 air outlets after the filter and regulator. 1 standard duty outlet and 1 - 1/2" for the heavy duty impacts.
