The tinsel strength of these bolts are not very good. I was able to snap a bolt in half when tightening down on the nut using a small socket wrench. Maybe it was a defective bolt didn't have an issue with the others.

Well, it's a bolt... I bought these for sistering floor joists and decided to go with 4.5" because my old joists were not straight and I needed extra length to pull them together. They holding up pretty good. Just keep in mind that they are not for use with treated lumber.
