Can the metal stop be removed? We would use this doorstop in summer but want to remove it during ski season.

You can unscrew the side connected to the wall so there is nothing protruding in a couple seconds. You can also unscrew the side on the door byt it doesn't stick out that far so you probably wouldn't need to.

Will a command strip be strong enough to hold the catch to the door? I don't want to put holes in the door.
Asked by: AM
I don't think that the Command strips would be strong enough. Needs to be fasted with screws. You might try mounting to a small board and attaching the board to the door and wall with a lot of strips.

Does the magnet attach to the door or the wall? I want to use it on a door with a metal heater behind it.

Asked by: Jackie
Both, a small round magnet attaches to the bottom of the door opposite of the regular looking doorstop with magnet attached to the baseboard

Will this hold open a home garage fire door with automatic door closure?
Asked by: Occam
No.. the magnet is only strong enough to hold open a free swinging door. I don't believe the magnet is strong enough to hold open a door with an automatic door closing device.
