is there a video showing how to replace this Thermocouple for an AC Smith 75 Gallon Water Heater or any other type water heater? Peter M
Asked by: PM
Just remove the old one and repeat your steps in reverse order. You can leave the old fitting in place. (The pieces that are separate) Screw in the brass fitting and feed the probe into old fitting so that pilot flame hits the probe. You can do it.

I thought I was going to have to replace my 20 year old propane hot water heater, While I was in the store looking at new water heaters " I have been thinking about upgrading to a tank-less water heater " The cheapest water heater started at around $400-$500 and up. Thinking to myself I can't afford any of these right now maybe if I put it on my to do list I could work into it. The worst part of it was wondering how or what to say to the wife because we are already on day 3 with no hot water. I was just scanning the isle and thinking about the above I happened to see something that was a thermal something another I think as I was reading the package and thinking this sounds like my problem so spend $12 or $500 ++++ Mmmmm. I went for it, the install was easier then I thought, Guess what it worked and I'm happy to say I still have my 21 year old water heater. Earlier that day I went to the store twice and my total was $6.66 both times. 666 my new lucky number..

I would sit in front of the furnace for 20-30 minutes each fall trying to get the pilot to light until finally this year it did not start. It took me literally 5 minutes to replace the thermocouple and the pilot!
