Questions & Answers

Are there any seams other than the four sided hems?

Are there any seams other than the four sided hems?
Asked by: RJ
Mine had no other seams, although I have heard it is possible. Made some nice long curtains from 2 of these, just make sure to wash and dry first because it will shrink a bit.

are they 100 percent cotton

are they 100 percent cotton
Asked by: sam
I would say 99% sure yes. It's advertised as canvas and canvas is typically made from cotton. If it had any reinforcing fibers in it to make it last longer I think they would say so. Fabric stores sell cotton duck with the duck meaning a tighter weave. You could compare. A lady posted a review showing a couch she upholstered after applying a nice print and I think that would require cotton.

I want to lay this drop cloth on the ground on the outside of my house before I pressure wash off some loose paint. Will this contain the paint chips? Meaning, will the water pass through it, but the pant chip would stay on the drop cloth? It is not lead paint.
Asked by: Cameron
It might. You can judge from my picture. I'm guessing it's a fairly loose weave as these things go. Ten ounce might be better. You could go into the store with a Sherlock Holmes magnifying glass and check it out.

Can this canvas drop cloth be used to protect a rolled up pool solar cover/blanket from the sun? ...

Can this canvas drop cloth be used to protect a rolled up pool solar cover/blanket from the sun? (Original thin plastic over-cover tore to pieces; finding something light colored and 3-6 ft. x 25+ ft. isn't easy, and two of these might work. They would be stored in a deck box when the blanket is spread on the pool.)
Asked by: BigMal
They are not as heavy duty as the top of the line drop cloths but pretty heavy material. Given mold etc does not attack it, I see this lasting in the sun for at least 2 years. I was thinking of having custom furniture covers made from it. The cost per yard seems very reasonable.
