Goal? In an ongoing effort to create high-functioning spaces, using multi-functioning equipment, we will use this stainless steel pull plate on a workbench, mounted sideways/horizontally, instead of vertically. That way it will still be a functioning pull when the bench needs to be relocated, but will also act as a towel holder on the side of the workbench. Confusing part of the acquisition? The product is recorded on the website as being made of stainless steel-- and made of aluminum. So, is it stainless steel or aluminum? The towel won't care.

Good Pull Plate When More Mounting Hardware is added
This pull plate is flimsy due to its thin mounting plate that is approximately 0.295" [0.75 mm] thick and there being only 3 mounting screws along the 16" length of the plate with a span of 7-1/2" between mounting screws. The equivalent pull plates from competitors have the same dimensions and also use the same number of mounting screws, but the thickness of the some of the competitor mounting plates is 0.05" [1.2 mm]. The flimsiness of the mounting plate can be resolved by adding 4 more mounting holes to have 5 mounting holes along the 16" length instead of only 3 mounting holes to reduce the 7-1/2" span between mounting holes to 3-3/4". Pulling the handle on this pull plate with any force causes the thin plate to pull away from the door between the 7-1/2" span between mounting screws which also stresses the small and short mounting screws. I was able to resolve the flimsiness of the pull plate that I have by drilling 4 more mounting holes and adding 4 more mounting screws. With the additional mounting screws this pull plate does not feel like it will pull away from the door anymore when the handle is pulled and there isn't as much stress on the small and short mounting hardware. The alternative to resolve the flimsiness of this pull plate is to use a thicker mounting plate like the competitors use, but that would increase the cost and would also require longer mounting screws. This is an attractive and stylish pull plate that can be a quality pull plate when additional mounting holes and hardware are added. The manufacturer provides six #6 x 1/2" long flat head screws for mounting hardware.
