Everbilt Metal Carriage Bolts are the ideal chain link fitting to provide a stable and secure chain link fence. The 5/16 in. x 1-1/4 in. steel carriage bolt with nut can be used to join rail ends, tension bands and brace bands to posts. Use a socket, nut driver or wrench to tighten. The chain link fence bolt and nut both have galvanized coating to help resist weathering and rust and increase longevity. This coating makes the fittings perfect for outdoor and long-term use. These chain link fence connectors are sometimes called plow bolts or coach bolts and can also be used in other applications, including wood projects like picnic table construction, deck building and other fencing projects. A full line of Everbilt Chain Link Fence fabric, framework and fittings are sold separately.

Needed for chain link fencing
If you are going to be installing chain link fencing, you will need several of these bolts and nuts. They are commonly used in all the straps and fittings on terminal posts. They have a good heavy coat of Galvanizing on them that will reduce the possibility that you will see rust in the future. They are graded 4.8 and are plenty strong for their intended uses.
These bolts turned out pretty easy to use. They thread easy which may mean one of two things; either they have good tolerances OR they are too far out of tolerance and are likely to strip out. Its not something i would worry too much about however since they aren't holding an engine together. Either way, they are hot- dip galvanized for maximal corrosion resistance. The value seems to be okay on this but not exceptional.
Tried a set of Everbilt galvanized carriage bolts to help repair my swinging gate. These fit the bill just fine for my wooden gate. The 1-1/4" length was fine for some wooden cedar wood pickets but not deep enough for the 2x4 framing material. Hopefully, the galvanizing will last a few Colorado winters ahead. Have used several Everbilt products and had great luck over many years. Hope these work out well for you also.
These galvanized carriage bolt & nuts come in a set of 20 which is a nice amount for most repair jobs of fencing. You don't need to purchase individually where you would need to pay more nor in bulk where you are purchasing too many. These nuts & bolts are typical hot dipped galvanized and should resist any weathering. As typical dipped nuts and bolts you encounter some difficulty in attaching the nuts due to the threads being clogged. Ive used them to repair my chain link fence and they work nicely.
Everbilt 5/16 in. x 1-1/4 in. Galvanized Metal Carriage Bolt/Nut (20-Set/Bag). The package indicates that there are 20 sets of bolt and nuts in the package. After trying all the nuts on corresponding bolts I found that there was one extra bolt. I also found that two had malformed heads so maybe the worse of the two had slipped past and checks made during packaging. Four of the grade markings are half off the head making them hard to distinguish and five are partially off the head. The bolts are grade 4.8 in tinsel strength relatively low but good for an everyday fastener without much tension. All of the nuts went on easily and the nut fits loosely on the course thread. The galvanized steel body should hold up well in wet conditions.
Everbilt - Everbilt 5/16 in. x 1-1/4 in. Galvanized Metal Carriage Bolt/Nut (20-Set/Bag) comes in handy when installing fencing. You use these bolts for tension bands end rails and many other places. Being that they are galvanized you can use on other outside projects and not have to worry about them rusting. They come 20 to a bag which saves money and time by not having to buy so many bags. They do come with the nuts that fit the bolts.
These Everbilt, 1 1/4", galvanized carriage bolt and nut combination are nice bolts. They are intended for chain link fence applications primarily for attaching like top rail ends to the posts. The are solidly made and can torque down really good. They are galvanized for very long term usage and i can verify they will remain corrosion free for 3-4 years that i have been using them.
The Everbilt 5/16 in. x 1-1/4 in. Galvanized Metal Carriage Bolt/Nut set of 20 came at a nice time. The West side of our garden fence with privacy slats was hit by a hard wind and 3 of the 5 posts were bent over a little. We need to remove the fence to straighten the posts. In doing so, some of the bolts that hold the tensioner bands had their threads damaged. These bolts are perfect replacements.
The Everbilt - Everbilt 5/16 in. x 1-1/4 in. Galvanized Metal Carriage Bolt/Nut (20-Set/Bag) is exactly what you need to replace any sections of your fence. They are very easy to install and tighten so this is the easy part. The biggest challenge will be removing the old rusted bolts and MAKE SURE to take your time so you do not snap off the old bolts. The new bolts will last a lifetime.
