A practical replacement when my poorly installed toilet bolt broke. I went from unsecured toilet to secured using the Everbilt 5/16 in. x 2-1/4 in. Steel Toilet Bowl Bolts and Nuts. My original installers did not do a functional job and I learned the hard way months later when my toilet was loose. This bowl bolts was easy to use and install myself and I know that the job was done correctly. The length was just what I needed with new base plate. The nut and bolt seems strong and durable to last until I replace the toilet.

A simple way to attach your toilet to the floor. This kit has all the parts needed to complete one toilet connection. But does not include the wax ring. Bolts are durable construction. Use to secure your toilet to the floor. 5/16 in. x 2-1/4 in. bolts Bowl-to-floor bolt type. Includes 2 bolts and nuts and gaskets for 1 toilet. Ask your Home Depot Associate to help you select the toilet for you. Complies with the reduction of lead in drinking water act Cutting the bolts can be tricky. I use a hacksaw blade. Dremel cutting wheels throw sparks. Remember!!!! Do not overtighten. Porcelain will crack.

The Everbilt brand 5/16” diameter by 2 1/4” length steel “T” toilet bowl bolts and nuts is both an excellent and handy plumbing item as well as a woodworking item. The 8-piece kit includes 2 each 5/16” diameter x 2 1/4” length x 18 thread steel “T” toilet bolts, 2 each 18-thread steel 1/2" wide nuts, 2 each plastic smaller diameter retainer washers, 2 each 5/16” diameter hole 7/8” wide steel washers. Both bolts have the “E-Z snap-off” feature that gives you the ability to shorten the bolts to meet your specific application, if needed. I have used this bolt kit many times with great success to attach a toilet bowl to the floor-based toilet flange for a secure fit. I especially like the fact that this bolt kit includes two plastic smaller diameter retainer discs that help to proper hold and position the two toilet bowl bolts in the toilet flange. By using the two retainer discs, it helps you keep these two bolts steady and upright so you can align these bolts with the toilet bowl holes for a quick and easy toilet bowl installation. A nice secondary feature about this bolt kit is the fact that these “T” bolts can be used by woodworkers to securely attach portable jigs in “T” tracks for woodworking. It should be noted that the flat “T” bolt head is 31/64” length by 1/2" width, 3/32” thick and will nicely fit only the larger size “T” tracks and not the smaller size “T” track.

These are a good quality toilet closet hold-down bolts, nuts and washers. These are 5/16" bolts. I like them better than the 1/4" bolts. A bit more heavy duty. I like that they are packaged in pairs including both metal and plastic washers and nuts. These bolts are used in conjunction with a closet flange. They do not attach to the floor, but do fit into the openings on the closet flange.

In stalled the new toilet this morning, and these worked fine. These are your normal 2-1/4'' toilet bowl bolts. They are pretty heavy duty. They also have a slotted spot on them so if you need to make it shorter you can either cut it short or break it off with say a pair of vise grips or something similar. You can use these Toilet Bolts with Nuts to secure a toilet bowl to the floor. This kit has all the parts needed to complete one toilet connection. The bolts are made well and feature a durable construction. These measure 5/16 in. x 2-1/4 in. bolts. This kit Includes 2 bolts and 2 nuts and 2 plastic gaskets to install your toilet. I also use these bolts for my 'T' tracks in the workshop on different jigs I use.

I bought a $300.00 toilet and it came with cheap 1/4" brass plated hold down bolts. In about one year they rusted out and would no longer hold the plastic trim caps in place. I replaced them with these 5/16" solid brass bolts and a new trim cap kit. The metal washers go on top of the plastic washers that are in the trim cap kit, everything fit and worked great.

Snap off didn't
The toilet bolts are designed to snap off to a shorter length, but had some difficulty starting the nut after the snap. Really liked the idea, but in practice didn't work as well as I'd hoped.

The bolts themselves are standard 2 1/4" long. They are the much preferred bigger 5/16" diameter instead of the weaker and sometimes harder to work with 1/4" diameter. They come with plastic pinch washers to help hold the bolts in place when you slip them under the flange. The flat T part of the bolt is a decent size so that it won't spin in the flange as you tighten/loosen the nuts. It locks in most toilet flanges but beware that certain brands/types of toilet flanges are not made as well as others and using flange brands like Oatey will not allow any bolts to stay put as you tighten/loosen the nuts. Good luck getting the nuts to loosen off the bolts if you had an Oatey toilet flange installed as the bolts just spin with the nut as you try to loosen them. The only complaints I would have with this toilet bolt kit are the fact that the metal washers are a little thin and weak since they bend a bit as you tighten the nuts down. They are stainless steel which is what you want, just too thin. Also, the hexated part of the nuts are a bit too shallow so you need a good socket or wrench that isn't worn out in order to make good contact with the hex flats. The pic does not actually show the nuts that are included. The nuts in the pic are brass like in the package but they are not as tall as what you actually get.

    Metal washers are too thin
The plastic washer holds the bolt in place well. But the metal washers are too thin and bend easily. They are about 1/3 the thickness of a normal washer. I replaced them with washers I had on hand.

    Good product
I changed out the toilet wax seal yesterday (3/15/15) and used Everbilt's 5/16"x2-1/4 in. brass toilet bolts with nuts. The gaskets held the bolts upright in the flange to assist when lowering the toilet onto the flange. This was handy since the bolts wouldn't stay put on their own. My only complaint with this product is that the washer was too small for my toilet. The washer barely covered the opening in my toilet where the bolt goes through. As I was tightening down the nut the bolt moved and the washer fell through the opening. I used a magnet to bring the washer back up through the hole. Luckily I had some larger washers in my shop that I used with the washers that came in the package. The other problem that I ran into was the bolts spinned when I tightened them down. To keep the bolts from spinning, I used my fingers to get the nut started and then a long nose locking plier to finish tightening the nut.
