As the proud owner of four of these precious rods, I can only assume they were converted to steel by magic. They are so perfect, it would have been impossible to be anything but magic.

Can I connect this to a small electric motor? I am making a model conveyor belt for a project.

Answers

Yes, but you need a connector. If the shaft on the motor is also 1/8, it will easier to easier to find. HD might have then. If the radii are different, you probably will need to buy one online. If you someone who is handy with tools, they might help you. There are several companies that sell these. If you are making a conveyor belt, the radius of this will probably be too small the turn the belt. It you get a large wood dowel, maybe an inch, put a short piece of the 1/8 in each end by drilling a hole. Glue the rod into the hole. Oops, well, you needed this in 2018. I hope things worked out!

(What's this)
I have many uses for this Plain Steel Cold Rolled round rod. The purpose for these specific 1/8 inch X 48 inch rods are for use in my garden that is being prepared early for upcoming growing season. I also cut them and use as 16 inch stable rods to keep my hollow ceramic statues upright and in place in my yard that the squirrels and such does not tip over the statues. I have many and these rods are perfect for my needs. I am very satisfied. There are many uses for these steel rods. Just use your imagination. The sky is the limit. Two thumbs up!

(What's this)
1/8 inch by 48 in Plain Steel Cold Rolled Round Rod has a variety of uses for various craft items... excellent for making model steel fence posts for dioramas, also can be used for making clay pot figurines. Easy to cut with a hack saw, or a bolt cutter. Cut end can be smoothed and/or round tapered using either a grinder or a belt sander. I usually paint mine with black spray paint for making model posts or if it is being used outside.

Since HomeDepot keeps emailing me to review this, I guess I will: This was the plainest steel round rod I have ever witnessed. It was so plain, so round, and so steel, scientists could calibrate their instruments by it.
