Product Details

Solid Braid polypropylene rope is ideal for all-purpose applications. It is flexible, rot proof, resists oil, water and most chemicals. Warning: Avoid using a knot; splicing is preferable. Knots reduce the strength of the rope up to 50%. Do not use this product for overhead lifting, support of human weight or athletic equipment or other situations where personal safety or valuable property can be endangered. The working loads shown should never be exceeded. Additional care must be exercised when using this product under shock (stress, jerk) conditions. These conditions can reduce working loads by as much as 33%. Never stand in line with rope under tension; such a rope, particularly nylon rope, may recoil (snap back). Never use this product to secure large flat surfaces or objects, which could airplane or dislodge through buildup of air pressure. All ropes should be replaced if signs of wear, such as broken fibers are apparent. Misuse can result in serious injury or death.
  • 100% polypropylene

A:  Hello. It stretches over time. Depending on the conditions it's being used ( inside / outside. ) The way it's being tied can also effect the durability of tightness.

A:  It depends on the purpose you assign to this rope. I use it to make dog toys and works great for this purpose. If using on a boat for anchor line this would not be a good choice. What are you securing or using it for?

A:  Isn't the tensile strength listed on the package ? Now I have to check the next time I pick it up. If not, contact the manufacturer. Home Depot could have it listed in the description of the product. I never checked . I've been using it on everything for over 30 years .

        Great for dog toys too.
I have been using this to make toys for the dogs in our neighborhood and for our dogs when they were alive. This rope is strong enough to take abuse from most dogs and is better than them chewing wood work inside house. I drill a hole right through a tennis ball and pull the rope through the holes and heat seal the two ends together so they will not come apart. I cut the rope to about 2 foot lengths and knot the rope on both sides of the tennis balls, see my pictures.

          Don't go
Products are good. Some employees are not. There are employees that don't want to be bothered by doing their job. It will be the last place we will go now.

The rope had way to much stretch and give to it. I only bought it because the selection was so poor and not a single associate had a clue about the different type of rope, their uses and quality.
