        Answer This Question

A:  No it is cotton canvas, not waterproof

        by|Oct 13, 2022

A:  Light rain yes but it's canvas so once it's soaked thru its going to be wet underneath. Maybe some water proofing spray would help even more

        Answer This Question

A:  It’s cotton. It would work for a season or two, but then would become a hazard. Cotton is weak after exposure to UV. Synthetics fare better (long term).

Drop cloths are not just for painters! The 10 oz. Everbilt drop cloths make beautiful (and durable) slipcovers. I looked at drop cloths at 3 other places and by far, these Everbilt drop cloths were the absolute best, in my opinion. Although they do have some blue, pink/burgundy and dark gray threads interwoven into the canvas, they are very subtle flecks and are really only noticeable if you are looking for them. Overall, the material reads as a nice neutral color with a slightly grayish undertone (vs. yellow or beige). I didn't find any flaws or irregularities in any of the 8 (9x12) drops cloths I purchased for my sofa, chair and ottoman. However, each (9x12) drop cloth did have 1 seam (which the seamstress and I expected and accounted for when figuring yardage for the slipcovers). To prepare them for my slipcover seamstress, I washed each drop cloth in hot water and dried them in a hot dryer to shrink and soften them. I then ripped out the middle seam, ironed the 16 (half) pieces and folded each piece accordion-style, per my seamstress' instructions. If you are considering using these Everbilt drop cloths for home decor projects, do not hesitate. They are wonderful (as evidenced by the photos I've attached of my slipcovered sofa, chair and ottoman)!
