Questions & Answers

Does it matter which rollers are installed on the front-facing vs back-facing closet doors?

The door roller is hitting against the other door and it's not sliding. The closet door thickness is 1-3/8".
Asked by: Nicole
YES, YOU DO NEED THE CORRECT ROLLERS MADE FOR THIS THICKNESS OF DOOR. THEY ARE BENT AT THE CORRECT ANGLE TO CLEAR. THEY ARE IN STICK AT MOST HOME DEPOT STORES.

Does Everbilt have a sliding door hardware kit for 3 doors totaling 79 inches?

Does Everbilt have a sliding door hardware kit for 3 doors totaling 79 inches?
Asked by: Frisco
I'm not sure if they do. Technically you could mount 3 or even 4 on this. But all three wouldn't overlap each other. Only two could overlap each other at one time. Unless you got another track (which would be 4 tracks) then you could, but would depend if your header is wide enough for that. Note that this kit comes with enough for 2 doors, a 3rd door would require more mounting/rollers.

93" ?

Can the track be cut to 93".
Asked by: Ron
It can be cut down to 93" or whatever length needed, if that's your question? Would recommend a grinder or something that is meant to cut metal. Even a cheap hacksaw will do it. Using a miter was with a wooden blade would not be recommended.

Great value and quality product. this is a good made product with a sturdy track that hopefully will last a really long time. I have a custom with, so I had to cut the length a little bit, but otherwise worked really well in the space I have. the doors I have are solid and heavy, so this track is perfect for what I need it for. easy to install and sturdy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love hanging closet doors vs mounted ones for one simple reason. The fact that you don’t have to have a track on the ground. I like to have a seamless floor, be it carpet or something hard. Note that you do have the “door guides” that are supposed to be mounted in the middle of the doors on the floor. They mainly keep the doors from rubbing against each other. You don’t necessarily “have” to have it, but your doors will rub against each other. With that said, it’s a minimalist floor mount. Not to mention the doors overlap each other in the middle, no matter where they are, so that part of the floor will already be covered by the doors at all times. Installation is pretty easy. The name of the game is if the header (where the closet door track mounts) was set up correctly. Essentially if it already has doors in it, then it likely was built correctly. If it’s out of balance, the doors might fall to one side or the other. As well as if the header is for some reason hollow drywall. It should have some solid wood to screw into up there, but you never know, especially with older houses. As for weight, I mounted some custom made solid wood doors on the track. I found that the track itself started sagging/twisting in the parts between the mounting screws. I reinforced it by drilling more holes and mounting more screws into it, making it more solid to the header. It’s obvious they are made for the hollow door slabs, it will hold up to the solid doors, just needs more serious mounting is all. I chose to go with these rather than a closet door kit with doors, because I wanted to make my custom rustic almost mideval looking doors. Obviously you have to consider all measurements, and generally want the doors to hang at least a quarter inch off of the carpet. I strongly recommend these for custom set ups. The full kits usually the doors are a basic pan door slab, very flexible and thin. Not considered “high quality” with this, you can make as high of quality as you’d like.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from GOOD PRODUCT THE TRACK WAS GOOD QUALITY AND EASY TO INSTALL FOR THE EXPERIENCED HANDY PERSON. I DO WISH IT HAD AND FRONT VALANCE LIKE THE OLDER ONES USED TO BUT IT WORKED.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good product but . . . Why mix silver and gold hardware? Makes to sense. Door pulls are sooo tiny you can barely fit your finger in them. Had to go back to store to exchange the gold hardware for silver and needed to get larger door pulls. Other than that, it worked fine.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from another bad purchase from home depot when it came time to install 2nd door it wouldn't fit. I'm using the 1-3/8" thickness doors and with the tracks provided there's barely room for a 1-1/8" thickness door. so now I'm stuck with 2 tracks I cut to fit to the opening. @$23.98 per track that's $50 down the drain unless I can get the store to refund my $
