The Everbilt Black Self-Closing Gate Kit should come without tension. If there is tension, the hinge can be adjusted to not have any tension. Another option could be the 3-1/2 in. Black Heavy-Duty Tee Hinge, Part 15065, SKU 163286, basically the same hinge without the spring tension feature. This can be found in the following link: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-3-1-2-in-Black-Heavy-Duty-Tee-Hinge-15065/202034050 .
To use this self-closing gate kit with aluminum posts you would need to use different fasteners.
The recommended space between the gate and post is 1/2 inch.
It doesn't. You have to reach above. They sell a locking two sided keyed latch
The latch should be affixed to the housing unit, a separate screw is used on the latch to secure it to the wood so it doesn’t move. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
The Safety Screws for this gate kit are #6-32X3/4 inch flat head machine screws.
The working load limit per hinge is 50 pounds.
This self-closing gate kit can be used on vinyl fencing. We recommend using metal fasteners instead of the included wood fasteners.
To get this gate kit to self open you could rotate the tension in the opposite direction.
I bought this & installed a gate on posts with this kit last weekend for both our dogs & baby. I'm sure you can install it on a wall BUT ensure you attach it to something (stud or brace) that has enough support to hold any kind of weight. Depending on what ends up hanging on it (ie, gate itself, clothes, or even baby, etc) might rip the screws & hinge right off the wall. In short, i do not recommend just attaching these to the wall by itself. Hope that helps. Good luck.
