Questions & Answers

does this work with gas dryer

Asked by: mjpjunk
I saw on the internet that gas dryers vent some amount of carbon monoxide, which is harmful in enclosed spaces. So, you'd definitely want to look into that before using this with a gas dryer.

Where do you mount the filter or does it just sit on the floor?

Asked by: dafaz
On top of dryer or wall.

I have a gas dryer. Why is this product exactly not recommended on gas dryers?

Asked by: Pam
I am not an expert but by common sense I would assume is not recommended because of the fumes and CO2 being in an enclosed environment.

How much water do you put in the container

Asked by: Mi1016
I use enough water to fill the container 2” high. That’s enough water and the lint will be floating in the water after you’ve finishing drying your loads of laundry. When you finish your last load, empty the contents into the toilet. Rinse the container to make sure all the residue lint is removed and dry the bottom half of the container with a paper towel.

It does catch the lent that the dryer produces. It also dumps all the hot moist air out into my kitchen. This isn't a problem in the winter and may even help with heating costs. I'm not sure how it will affect the cost of cooling in the summer. It is still a lot safer than letting lint pour into the crawlspace under the house which is what the former occupants did.

Pros: Installed this and it has helped to subsidize my heating in a part of the house that didnt heat well. Cons: No marking line or information to tell how much to fill the bowl full of water with. Weather being warm the dryer is producing moisture in the part of the house it is in and causes a fear of possible mold growth.

If you are looking a lint filter it's probably fine. Normally wouldn't bother reviewing something but home depot keeps sending me this email to do.
