Can this be attached to an outside door?

Asked by Rich May 21, 2021

Answer

For the Everbilt Matte Black Squared Solid Doorstop, this would not be a recommended option. Please consider the Oil-Rubbed Bronze Wall Door Stop (Model # 15705 / Store SKU 793589). This item is made of solid brass material to withstand outdoor use. Simply place where the handle meets the wall. This can be found in the following link: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-Oil-Rubbed-Bronze-Wall-Door-Stop-15705/202034115 .

Can it be attached to the floor? If so, what would the height be?

Asked by JM September 27, 2020

Answer

The Everbilt Matte Black Squared Solid Doorstop can be attached to the floor. The overall height is 2.76 inches. The height from the floor to the bottom of the rubber tip is 2.36 inches. The width of the doorstop is .79 inch. The width of the rubber tip is .91 inch. Thank you.

can it be attached to the door?

Answer

This doorstop can be attached to a solid core door. We would not recommend this method for a hollow core door as it may not have the support to withstand repeated impact.

how does it fasten to baseboard

The instructions are on the back of the package. Basically you will drill the pilot hole, insert the anchor, remove the tip, insert the screw into the doorstop and anchor, and then replace the tip.

This Everbilt Square Doorstop helps prevent damage to walls when opening a door too far or with too much force, resulting in the doorknob plunging into the wall over time. The rubber tip acts as a bumper and absorbs the impact force from the door with minimal damage to the bottom corner of the door. This part is made of steel, finished in a Matte black color, and attaches to baseboard with the included screw and anchor for more reinforcement.

Nice simple door stop. Can be mounted on the door or on the wall, what ever works best. Simple, clean design with single screw installation. Removable rubber cap allows the stop to be installed with a phillips screw driver, then reinstall the rubber cap to complete the installation. Well made of quality materials with a nice matte black finish. Makes a nice robust stop for the door.

Gone is my old spring door stop that the babies love strumming to and here today it has a nice modern replacement. The beautiful matte black fits my hardware style and color. The straight lines of the square shape give it a clean appearance. Installation was easy as possible. Remove the old outdated door stopper and screw in the new stopper. I did have to use an extended drill bit and luckily I had one laying around.

While I like the design of most Everbilt Hardware products, I cannot endorse this door stop. There are much better designed stops that do the job of protecting doors and walls. The main complaint I have with this stop is it mounts solid, and if placed at most any height, is a hazard to bumping against it. If it gives it will tear out a hole in the wall, and if it doesn't give it will leave a bruise at the least and could do more physical harm, especially to children. The idea is not bad, but the design of this door stop should be avoided.

Nice design on this black metal door stop that attaches to the wall. I selected this for a door that opens on a heating pipe. I can mount it lower or vary the location to assure the door doesn't hit the wall. If I chose to enclose the pipe with a cover, I could either mount the doorstop to the cover or move it higher on the wall above the cover. The rubber stopper, which keeps the door from getting marred, is removed to show an empty cavity. You attach the included anchor in the wall, then use the screw to attach the back of the doorstop to the anchor. Replace the rubber stopper and you're done.
