The Everbilt Hinge Pin Doorstop is held in place with a hinge pin. The self-adjusting pad makes full contact with the door. An oversized bumper mounted on an adjusting screw protects the door trim.

Q:What is the thread size of the screw? It doesn?t stay in position so I?m gonna buy some lock nuts to use. It seemed like 1/4-20 when I checked in store but when I tried installing a lock nut it stripped out the threads on the screw.

Answer This Question
A: To remove a pin from a hinge, be sure that the hinge is in the open position. You can use a hinge pin punch, or nail and hammer method to remove the pin. In order to remove the pin, make sure you are underneath the end of the pin at the bottom of the hinge, not on top. The cap itself does not come off, but there is an opening or hole in the cap to place a hinge pin punch/nail under there.

Nice Look, But doesn't allow door to fully open.
The Everbilt Satin Nickel Hinge Pin Door Stop is made strong and performs really well with preventing my doors from opening to open to far. The only concern I have is that it doesn't open a wide as I would like. The reason I'm using this method of door stop than the floor molding spring stop, is due to there being another door which also opens in the same direction. You can see in my pictures that although this prevents me from having the doors hit each other, it only allows me to open it so far. If you are looking to open your door all the way to the wall. I suggest using a door spring stop.

This little gadget fits onto door hinge and keeps door from banging against wall when door is shoed open widely. The adjustment works well, so you can make the door stop swinging open at almost any angle. No door stops loose on the floor or screwed into baseboard. Very “out of sight” and not costly. Hardest part is installation if the hinge pins in the door are sticky.
