Questions & Answers

Does this require a pull or handle to open the door? I was told it’s a “push button”

And to open the door, push on the door to release the ball. Is this not the case?
Asked by: Matt
Hey, Matt. Yes, you need a pull handle. The latch is spring-loaded. You adjust it to your liking.

Can this be mounted in the top of the door?

Asked by: Dan
Yes, that's where I installed it, it replaced a drive-in type that was broken.

How do you adjust the ball tension?

Asked by: Lance
The ball tension is fixed within the cylinder of the ball catch. You can adjust the amount of reach into the strike plate by turning the cylinder in the mounting plate. The higher it sits above the mounting plate (to the extent that it clears the door frame) the more tension it takes to engage the strike plate. If it barely hits the strike plate, it will require less pressure to engage the strike plate. Hope this is helpful.
