Compost broke apart after 3 months
This compost bin was tough to assemble, but we were initially happy with it in our backyard. As a household of 2 people, we do not produce an insane amount of food waste, yet after 3 months, the plastic panels split apart and broke open, dumping the compost into our backyard. I definitely do not recommend this product. I recently discovered that most counties sell compost bins--check that before purchasing a commercial product like this, especially since it is of such poor quality.

It's hard to put together. It says to tighten the bolts, but that's almost impossible since they're inside the unit. The two bolts for the screws on each side of the unit on the bars to hold it in place will only screw onto the end of the screw.

This item was worth the price. Assembly was a little tricky at first because you needed two sets of hands to hold the pieces together while you set the fasteners. When at least three pieces were bolted together you can do it by yourself without much problems. A socket wrench with a 3 inch extension made it easier to get to some parts inside. The device is pretty sturdy when assembled and we just started using it. It seems easier than the one we had on the ground that needed to be opened at the top and the contents stirred with a pitch fork or by hand. The rotating design makes it easy to use. The photo shows the difference in design.

This compost tumbler is great—the only hesitation I have in 5 stars is that it does slightly leak, but that wouldn’t deter me from purchasing it again.

      Set up
The setting up of was easy. 1. Have each exterior panel going all the same direction. 2. Reaching into the back wall of this canister, if you have short arms, another set of hands are needed to stablize as you set your screws and "bolt" into place. Wll come back at end of season to report on its success.

      Get help putting it together
The tumbler is the envy of my neighbors. Every one wants one, but putting it together with my arthritic hands was a chore.
